Letter of Legal Capacity to Marry.

Phnom Penh

I am trying to get an idea of how the new

requirement for K1 is done and accepted for the interview.

I hope those of you who have upcoming interviews as

well as the recent approved K1 members will share

the knowledge.

1-Where did your fiance(e) obtain the letter.

Was it from head of Phum, Head of khum or head of

Srok? How low or far up the chain of local authority is acceptable by the embassy?

2-Who did the translation?

Does it need to be a government bureau (same as police report translation) or you can translate it yourself?

3-Cost???

Thanks

Hi, I'm finding out about it as well. I called to one friend of mine who used to do for his paperwork. He said go to district (sangkat) or (khum) ask for form of capacity legal to marry or letter that expressing single. Sangkat or khum know how to do it. It will be expired in 3 months. It doesn't cost a lot. Your fiance can translate it where she translated birth certificate. :) thats all I know about it. Hope it can help you some :) good luck
