Hi guys!

i am almost ready to submit my AOS package and i have a few questions but there is one that is very important. at the form I 765 for work authorization at one point they ask if i ever applied for a work authorization from USCIS before. the thing is that i was here 2 years ago on a J1 visa and i was working so now i wonder ...did i had a work authorization from USCIS before?

i talked with the HR guy from the company i used to work and he said that a J1 visa doesn't need a USCIS authorization, that is usually for HB1 visa but he wasn't 100 % . so that is why i just wanna double check to see if any of u guys know if a J1 had a work authorization from USCIS.

thank u very much!

That question means have you ever specifically applied for an EAD using an I-765 at any point in the past.

The answer would be no.

Hi! I have a question about that. I also had a J1 visa about 5 years ago and a SSN that let me work for 3 months. Now I came in my tourist visa in 2013 and got married in 2014, but just now I'm filing my AOS. Should I include that SSN I had before in all my forms??

Yes, the SSN issued to you is yours for life.
