Do I have to phone the NVC?

We got our NOA2 yesterday. The Visajourney.com K-1 process page says to call the National Visa Center in 2 weeks, and the consulate some time after that to see if they received our approval, but do I have to make any phone calls? Won't it just happen on it's own?

If I just hang tight and wait, the consulate will eventually send me the package with info about booking my medical and my interview, right? And they will send that to me in about 6-8 weeks from now on average, am I correct?

I'm not super anxious about the process, so if things will tick along without me making frustrating and futile phone calls I am OK with waiting, and contacting them only if I don't hear anything. Please let me know though if that will work or if I do need to start making phone calls.

Why not engage the petitioner to be making that phone call ?

But why do we need to make the phone call at all? He'd be happy to do it, but do we NEED to do it, or does our paperwork keep moving through the system regardless? That's my question.

I don't believe just by calling USICS will make it faster, I'm sure there is lot of stress on caller.

You don't need to - but by doing so, you'll be able to get your medical booked sooner which might then mean less waiting around at the Embassy stage.

Hi, You can call NVC at +1 (603) 334-0700 and asked for your case number, from Monday to Friday, 7am to 12noon.

Our case was approved last Aug 19 but until now, we still haven't got our Case Number Hoping it will come soon. My fiance (the petitioner) said, we'll just have to be patient. He doesn't want to call everyday, hehehe...

I tried calling DOS also last night at +1 (202) 485-7600 using magic jack app but still no luck...

If you call DOS, immediately press 1 & 0, you don't have to listen the whole voice prompt
