We used Dr. Tong but he did not give her the 8 week boosters!

Darnell,

We found Dr. Kai-Ming Tong, M.D.F.R.C.C. on VJ and he was one of the recommended doctors. We was very nice and seemed to know his stuff. However, he did not give my fiance the 8 week boosters for MMR, Varicella and Td. He gave her the influenza shot though. He verified the original MMR, Varicella and Td vaccinations done in China (transferred them from the DS-3025 to the I-693), put the I-693 into an envelope and sealed it according to USCIS procedure. But now I'm worried that not getting her 8 week boosters will become a problem for her when we file her I-485. Do you (or anyone here on VJ) have any words of wisdom for us?

Thanks so much for your help! --- Clint & Hong

she should be able to get the booster anywhere, but

getting it transcribed onto something may be the problem, at this point.

IMO - just get it done, get the transcription,

then write a cover letter about it,

and paperclip both to the sealed medical packet.

My wife got a 2nd international shot record done in Guangzhou, when she got her shots,

so at least we have a shot record not to be bound up in a sealed packet.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I'm not sure what you mean by getting it "transcribed onto something". It's already in English, so what needs transcribing? Do you mean transferring the information to some government form like the I-693? Thanks again!

you've a sealed medical packet that you can't break open.

so a shot transcription is what i'm thinking of.

however - since the Dr is the one who messed up, forget everything I've said,

and

go back to the doctor and handle the extra shot, bringing the sealed envelope.

The doctor will break the seal, do some more paperwork, and make a new envelope with a new seal.

yes, I can do that. So, are you telling me that if we submitted the AOS package to the USCIS without record of the boosters, it would get denied?

i can't say.

i wish i had the answer on that one, sorry.

However, submitting a complete medical pack, IMO, negates most silliness and fear, yes?

Apologies - my knowledge on medical stuff for K-1 is really abysmal, almost non-existent.

Haha! That's ok. I have found your input on almost anything here on VJ is worth a lot! Your advise here too!

By the way, within an hour after her flu shot she began to feel "uncomfortable", as she put it. Within about 3 or 4 hours, she began to run a fever. It rose to 102.6 before it began to go back down. By the end of the day, it was back to normal. Very strange.

i can't say.

Hmm, I get a flu shot every year and have never had a problem. I guess it just depends on each individual.

Will do on the timeline update! Thanks again!

I just spoke with Dr. Tong. He's been doing visas for many many years and he said that the boosters are required to acquire certain jobs, college admittance and such, but are NOT required for AOS. He seemed very adamant about it, so I think I'll just leave it alone for now. Anyway, I wanted to pass that information on to you in case someone else has a similar question.smile.png
