LOL Gary.. What a Topic and a great one. An hour ago I seen this on our local News Channel about signing up for REQUIRED Health Care in Oregon and getting Coverage on opening day. I could'nt believe it, but then again I do.

Now Oregonians have No clue when to enroll but the Goverment Fine Date remains the same..

I don't even think this related to a shut-down. It is Political Inafficientcy.

They had years to prepare for this and on Day One. It don't work. Were screwed again and wait for our leaders.

Why is it you pay for Insurance on October 2nd and it starts January 1st the next year. Help me with that?

PPACA will be subject to amendments for a very long time to come. Nothing wrong with that. The terrorist faction of the GOP in the House is not interested in amending the PPACA - they want to extort what they can't achieve in the legislative, judiciary or democratic process. They hate our democratic institutions. They're jihadists. All that's missing are the bombs strapped around their bodies. Give it time, they'll get there.

So predictable. Nothing wrong with amendments, as long as they're not proposed by Republicans, when they are acts of extortion, terrorism, or anarchy? And you wonder why America is so intractably divided right now? Partisan extremists like you are the problem.

Until the rhetoric from both sides is exhausted, this country will nosedive into political stalemate, because neither side has the intelligence to break the current cycle.

Only because that's the way you want to see it. It's a very simplistic view, one that's being fed to the public by the media, who are looking for a pantomime villain catchy headline.

When looked at from the outside, only the Democrats stand to gain from the current shutdown, so they did everything they needed to (which wasn't much) to make sure it occurred. For carp like the shutdown, it pays to remember that it takes two to tango.

If I heard correctly the fine is 2,400.00 Annual. Deducted from your wages after being caught. The is supposingly a New Line on your 2014 Tax Return for Health Care.

Anyone know any different?

Try getting your information from more reliable sources. There are lots of them out there. VJ OT is not the best place to rely on for information of this sort.
