Since Russia has their own version of Obama care, I am not sure how he could help.....

other than to put it on display, which of course would demonstrate why people who have money, get private care.

Not that I think you would be capable of actually grasping this but contrary to what the Right Wing Echo Chamber has implanted into your brain, Obamacare is by and large private care. That's one of it's biggest shortfalls.

Nope, that's a different discussion. Remember, the government is not in shut down because there was any disagreement over the funding level of the federal government for the next few weeks. Democrats have passed the funding number that the House Republicans passed. This isn't about what the federal government spends. It's about a group of spoiled little brats - or a group of economic terrorists depending on how you look at these fools - that are incapable of accepting that America has spoken on Obamacare and that because America has spoken on Obamacare it is here to stay.

It may be a different discussion, but it can have unintended good consequences. Kinda like when some union slackers go on strike because they want $45 an hour for screwing on some bolt over and over all day. Come to find out, while the union worker was on strike, we could get someone to do the same job for $10 an hour, and he didn't belong to a union. So while the strike may have looked like bad news at the beginning, it actually worked out better in the end. My point is, it might be a good thing to lose some of these govt. services for awhile so that people realize they're not needed at all. Keeping someone employed because laying them off may harm the economy, is the height of stupidity.

I really don't care which group of brats in Congress didn't get their way. Hoipefully the end result will be less govt. spending.

If you think that a single federal employee, let alone a federal agency or office will be closed or let go as a result of the government shut down, then you are kidding yourself. Didn't happen 17 years ago, won't happen now. Again, maybe you haven't paid attention but this is NOT about funding levels. This is NOT about the number of federal offices, agencies or employees. That's NOT the issue. House and Senate agreed on the funding level. At issue is Obamacare which is already funded and which is not impacted by this shutdown. The tea party loons don't know this which is why they're pushing this ridiculous childish display.

Well, yeah, the death panels. They don't even get to assemble because health care costs have risen at the slowest pace in decades.

Well shucks MR BD, I guess you are the last one to know Obama care is the beginning step towards single payer (all GOVT)...... I mean, it's not like upon failure it is going to close up and go away, name for me the Gov't program that ever did?

Good, so there is still hope for this great nation. You believe that we will actually be able to dispose of all the waste, red tape and inefficiency that the private enterprise dominated health care system in this country has created and afford ourselves a healthcare system that is as efficient or better than that of other developed nations? One that is focues on people and their health rather than shareholders and their payouts?

Most likely... Universal healthcare is an eventual certainty, it is what the majority wants. Those opposed need to get over it and go on to the next battle.. Instead they insist on getting there the in most stupid, painful, and expensive way possible.

And just imagine how cheap and efficient all of our goods and services would be if Gov were to take them over as well.

See, Danno, this is where you fall off the cliff. There are plenty of nations out there that have perfectly well functioning free market economies and yet, they manage to offer quality health care to their entire populations at a fraction of the cost that we shell out to take care of most but not all. They've got it figured out and we don't.

You must not be paying attention. I'm saying that if the work of some these agenices and programs that are not being funded during this "shutdown" are not missed, it would be good to look at getting rid of them permanently.

Can you imagine a Tea Party utopia?

It would be like the Thunder Dome...only with more guns.

When you have the USA providing for most of a countries military defense needs you can retire at 50 and get free doctor visits.

We not only don't have that luxury.... we are doing the providing for them.

Didn't happen last time around. Won't happen this time either. I am paying attention. Are you?
