OH NO;s OMG! We're doomed! The sky has fallen I am afraid to look outside! It is the end of time as we know it!

Actually, everything is just like it was yesterday and last week, The government will reduce its functions to what it SHOULD do.

And to think we are still in the suffering stage of the "sequester". Remember the sequester? The fiscal cliff we fell off of in January? Remember how that was going to cause doom and gloom? and NOW...this! More doom and gloom.

Good news! During the shutdown when Clinton was President (it was George Bush's fault) he met that sweet young girl, much less than half his age, Monica Lewinsky, and got some really good BJs which he coul dnot get at home...well at least not in the other part of his home.

Hopefully Obama will stop having his hissy fit and finally compromise with the House of Representatives the way he compromises with Iran, North Korea and Syria. I sent a letter to Putin asking him to tell Obama to get off it and talk to Boehner. Maybe if Putin tells him he will start to work Democratically.

For those of you that wanted Boehner, Sheila Jackson-Lee, Mitch McConnell, and Joe Biden in charge of your health care...YAY! You got what you wanted. You can look forward to this quarterly pissing contest for the rest of your lives! (it means that Nancy Pelosi also has control over your health care and she does not know the difference between the constitution and the Declaration of independence...WITH aids, writers, advisors a private aircraft and a teleprompter,... she gets it wrong)

Agencies like NASA and the Environmental Protection Agency were being nearly shuttered. People classified as essential government employees — such as air traffic controllers, Border Patrol agents and most food inspectors — will continue to work.

U.S. embassies and consulates will continue to issue visas and service passports because these activities are supported by fees not subject to congressional appropriations, according to State Department officials.

The White House was operating with a skeletal staff, including household workers taking care of the first family's residence and presidential aides working in the West Wing. A groundskeeper working outside Tuesday morning at daybreak said he was doing the job normally handled by four workers.

Given the shutdown, White House officials were discussing whether President Barack Obama should change plans for a trip to Asia scheduled to begin Saturday.

The military will be paid under legislation freshly signed by Obama, but paychecks for other federal workers will be withheld until the impasse is broken. Federal workers were told to report to their jobs for a half-day but to perform only shutdown tasks like changing email greetings and closing down agencies' Internet sites.

The self-funded Postal Service will continue to operate and the government will continue to pay Social Security benefits and Medicare and Medicaid fees to doctors on time.

On Capitol Hill, lawmakers get to decide which of their staff members keep working and which are furloughed. Members of Congress will continue getting paid.

There were no "Closed" signs outside the Capitol or its adjacent visitor center early Tuesday warning tourists they would not be admitted for the usual tours. "That would be me," quipped one Capitol Police officer standing outside an entrance.

The original intent of the founders was different than what the office morphed into, as a natural evolution of an amendment that institutionalized the two party system. Would the Senate be the same body as it is now, if the Vice-President was the Presidential candidate that received the second most votes, as was the original Constitution, before the Twelve Amendment? What if Romney, instead of Biden, was serving as Vice-President?

I think it's a good thing.. Seems like the govt. is spending less money during this "shutdown" Nothing major is really affected. They'd just be spending money they don't have anyway.
