Hi VJers

I filed in the end of July, got approved last week and received my NOA2 notice by mail today (62 days from NOA1-NOA2 :) ).

Also, today I received status update email stating that case was sent to NVC.

My question is how long does it take for NVC to receive and enter the case into their system to issue embassy case number?

Is there any website to track the status or just by phone with representative?

I've seen anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months. Ours took 2 and half months... but I've seen that it fluctuates a lot. Hope you get the minimum time!!

I called this morning to see if they had received it and no, they have not. I got my NOA2 on August 27th...

Ours took almost exactly one month, the wait time to call is generally 23 min. as I know from experience.

make sure you get the receipt number as well as the embassy case number, as you will need both items later.

The service centers seem to be on different time frames when it comes to sending out the cases to NVC. Mine was out of CSC and it took 43 days for it to get over to NVC... Looks like you are TSC so maybe you will have better luck. And calling DOS is much faster than calling NVC, same info but NO holding time! :) and just an FYI, once my case got to NVC it was gone off to Ghana the next day for us!! So if you do have a wait, likely NVC/DOS will be quick to send it out!

Thanks for the information.

I tried calling them 3 times since last week's note that my application was forwarded to NVC. Every time I called I have to try 5-10 times before it gets connected (not busy) and average waiting time is like 30-40 minutes.

I asked them how the government shut down is effecting processing of our petitions USCIS and visas in the NVC. They said that it's not effecting it at all. good.gif
