It's only invoiced a few days AFTER the form has been accepted and added to the case file. You call to find out the status of the form.

I will ask husband to call them right now thanks for advice

And the second question is - my husband put his email address on DS 261 instead of mine so can i correct it online or its too late to do that?

Yes, just go back into the form, change it, and re-submit it.

Just have to vent. NVC is SUPER unfriendly and unhelpful. My case hasn't arrived yet. They keep saying 8 weeks. I asked them today about the job and income verification paperwork and I was told that they would not answer anything related to my case until I have a case number. I told them I am not asking specific to my case and just want some info. so I can get the paperwork together. The woman was just unfriendly and repetitive that she wouldn't give me any information.

So...maybe someone here knows... Here's the deal: My work will give me verification of employment plus my employment history. They won't give me a letter saying how much I make. They told me I can print out my pay stubs and show them. Will that suffice if I provide a letter saying I'm currently employed as of this date, along with my employment history and paystubs that include YTD salary info? I also have my IRS tax transcript from last year to show what I made, of course. But, will that be adequate or should I try to get something more? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance! goofy.gif

I've just changed and re-submited the form DS 261 so does it mean it will take another extra week from NVC to accept it?

Not sure.

Pay stubs and an employment letter are generally optional, so if you can't get an employment letter, it fine's. Just submit what you have.

You have to keep in mind, there are thousands and thousands of people going through NVC. It's going to take them time to get to everyone's paperwork.

Yes Saylin, I clearly get the fact that it's lots & lots of cases for NVC review.

What I was actually wondering was, when I asked for a specific timeline, the lady could not provide one. The lack of an expected timeline to complete an action is what I found interesting. I work for an arm of the Department of State. In my Bureau, there's clearly laid out timelines/deadlines to complete each specific action/assignment. We get thousands if not millions of grant & contracts to review too. My thoughts were about accountability.

YAY! Congrats! And it's a relief to know that this is going on despite the shutdown situation!!!

Boggy, I also found the NVC interesting. I asked a generic question about what they require for an I-130 to prove I can support my spouse and I couldn't get a simple answer over the phone. Just unhelpful and non-customer focused. Also no accountability. It's a bit of a shame really. I too work in a public service (educational) capacity and this would be unacceptable in my field, too...just thought I'd share.

Thanks Jenmatt for helping express my thoughts precisely! -- you hit the nail right on the head. Just unhelpful, non-customer focused and very unfriendly bunch!

Anyway, I hope your case get processed speedily! My very best to you both!

Ohhh, sorry, must have mis-read. It's unfortunately quite common for this at NVC. They either give some generic time frame or they're just all over the place. Sadly, no consistency.
