It unfortunately has to be the right, exact amount. Anything otherwise and you may get a checklist.

It might slip by the reviewing officer, but if it were me, I wouldn't chance it.

There's no more emailing the DS-3032. The form has been replaced by the online DS-261. Read the FAQ above on info about it. But yes, everyone needs to submit it, otherwise the IV bill won't be invoiced.

Thanks! You are a life saver:-)

Guys, I just paid the AOS fee, and printed the receipt. Also, my I received an e mail from NVC that my wife is supposed to submit the DS-261 form online. Once my wife submits that form, what can or should I do? Do I collect all the paperwork that is needed for AOS package and submit it or wait till the IV invoice is paid?

Remember, the AOS and IV are two separate tracks and have nothing to do with one another. If you have everything ready for the AOS package, you can send that. For the IV track, once you submit the DS-261, the IV bill will be invoiced within a week or two, then the IV package can be sent in.

Please read posts 1 and 2.

both have been accepted but have to wait for the ds260

And what's the status of the DS-260 when you call in?

I was told the same thing too about 5-7 days. My 2012 return came within that timeframe. I have been waiting on my 2011 and 2010 transcripts. Ugh.

kmg - It arrived today! Super happy about that, given the state of the government situation. So, I think I now have everything I should need to provide, if asked....transcripts from IRS included! dancin5hr.gif

finally case complete october 1

Saylin, what is the difference between AOS and IV? I've seen the terms, but don't know what the difference actually is. Can you explain? I was under the understanding that I had to provide an Affidavit of Support (AOS) to prove that I can financially support hubby when he arrives....so, I'm not sure what the IV is also for or if it's not necessary as well?

Good! Ah so jealous! Something must have happened to 2011 and 2010 ones. Once the government reopens, I will have to give IRS a call.
