The checklist instructions I received in the email said "allow 20 business days from receipt of documents" for NVC to review any compliance on the checklist.

I was on a call with NVC yesterday, however, and the operator said as soon as they receive my papers, I should be looking at 30 business days.

So, in short, looks like our papers probably will be back on queue--how else could it be if it really takes that long? oops8rh.gif

I send them my checklist back 4 days ago.. And when I call they said allow 30 business days.. Again ?????

As far as I know, being current only matters about getting the interview date, not the actual package processing. So, no, I don't think you need to wait.

Yes, both forms are done online. With both being online, no, the beneficiary does not sign anything during the NVC process anymore. You don't send the paper DS-230 (or a printed out DS-260) to include. It's all done online and NVC will have it in their systems.

Hello Saylin, Let me start by saying ..Thank you for all you do. I have been reading your posts and waiting eagerly to join. Here I am now, approved, submitted the DS-261,paid the AOS and waiting for acceptance. I think all the reading got me some what confused. Here is what I understood....all documents will be done electronically, we no longer need to mail anything to NVC including the package that includes two pictures of the beneficiary but all original and copy of the documents will be required during the interview. Is that correct? Thank you

Yes, just checked NOA-2, the A-number is given with my name. I guess that means I include it in the i-864. Thanks.

Be careful - that A number could be yours before you became US Citizen.

Crossing my fingers for that to happen!!! dancin5hr.gif

Good luck, dance of life. I'm a step behind you. Sent AOS package, but only got billed for IV today, so I'll send that hopefully next Friday. Have to wait for some docs to be mailed to me from NL. Let's keep each other in the loop. I was hoping for the same news, but I'm thinking I am being too hopeful now that it's almost November. Good luck! goofy.gif

Hi- Thank you- definately gotta lift one anothers spirit throughout this process. Our IV and AOS were billed and it showed as paid 2 days after they were paid.

I do not know how it works in general- but when I logged on it stated these were not paid, so went ahead and paid, THEN got the ds260 done, THEN sent out the civil docs.

It seems as if you did things in a different order!?! But regardless how, as long as they have received all required docs, pray that they are feeling sattisfied and case complete will be the immidiate action.

Goodluck Jenmatt :)

Nope, not correct. You're confusing two processes: EP (electronic processing) and online forms.

As of September 1st, 2013, EVERYONE is now required to do online forms (DS-261, DS-260). But EP (sending the AOS and IV packages by email) is not available to everyone; only a few select countries, Kenya NOT being one of them. You'll still have to mail out the packages to NVC.

Thank you, that just added sometime to our process :-( . Do I mail only copies and provide the originals during the interview?

No, you have to provide the originals/certified copies in the package, otherwise NVC will issue a checklist.

Working on my DS-260. Wife is overseas in medical school. We got married over seas also. DS260 essentially asks twice to enter spouse's address (if youre filing CR1). Since she is a student, that puts her as 'temporarily out of US' category (as per my interpretation of i864 instructions), and I presume her permanent address is her family home in the US, where we initially plan to live for a couple of months. (She has provided proof of domicile etc in AOS).

So should I go ahead and enter her US address in both parts? I tried to enter her overseas address in the "Petitioner Information" part but it wouldn't let me fill in her overseas telephone# (needed one more character space), so I assume I would enter her US address & ph # here as well? Previously in my personal infromation, it asked my marital status and address of my wife and I entered her US address there as well. A little confused.

Is anyone else feeling more impatient now to wait the 30 business days in the NVC stage than for the NOA2? I waited (somewhat) patiently for 7 whole months for my NOA2. But now, I'm anxiously checking my email everyday...it's only been over a week since I mailed everything! lol! It's looking like slim chances my husband and I will be together on our 1 year anniversary...
