Hey Folks... I have a problem and I'm now freaking out. I just tried to log in to check the status of my invoice (which was fine last night) and here is the error I got:

This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted. If you believe you have received this message in error, or to resume processing of the case, please contact the NVC immediately.

My hubby just sent the email for DS-3032 today and we got the auto-reply notice. I am really freaking out. Anyone else gotten this??? I obviously believe I received this message in error...

Thanks!

Hey there again :)

This is an expected error message. It means they are preparing your invoice. Wait a day or so and you will see its ready to pay!

I think its mentioned in Saylin's guide to the NVC.

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I finished my DS260 and submitted it along with civil documents. The AOS package I have completed about 10 days ago. Now when I log in to the CEAC website all the statuses either say PAID or COMPLETED. What is the next step from here? I know I'm supposed to wait for case complete but do I still check for anything in the CEAC website or do I start calling NVC right off the bat?

Thank you!

Oh wow, thank you Kaale & Dalli!!! I didn't see that mentioned. I already wrote them a message. I will tell my husband now. I really really really REALLY appreciate your response. Let me go re-read Saylin's guide. I had a bit of a panic. I never expected that.

Thank you again! good.gif

Hello,

I have been in Georgia working as a volunteer for 2 years. I am confused with the affidavit of support.

I still consider my home address to be in the USA. Is it wrong to use my US address or do I need use my current address in Georgia?

I make basically nothing here and do not make enough to file taxes. Is there any particular format I should use for the letter explaining why I dont have my last tax return in the USA?

I have looked over the sample letter for proof of domicile and I really do not have much evidence other than an active bank card. Will this be a problem? Is there any other things I can write? Should I show my volunteer contract that ends in December here in Georgia also?

Any help would be appreciated

Hello to all, I am joining this thread since we are puuting together AOS package. I have a few questions. Hopefully someone would be able to answer.

My mom petitioning my sister in F2A category. Since she doenst have any income and never filed taxes we will be using my husband's income. My mom and my husband share the same household. I am thinking my husband should use i864a since he and my mom in the same household? But I am confused as to how should I relate him to my mom in the form? Son-in-law is not one ot the options....Please if anyone had a similar situation or has an answer, share it. Thank you! My income is not used. But we have joint tax return to submit.

Hello everyone, one more question.

Our DS-260 (Immigrant Visa Application) is available to be submitted online, does it absolutely have to be submitted by the beneficiary? My wife is in remote part of Nepal where internet is not readily available. So, i was thinking why not I submit the application on her behalf.

If I (the petitioner) submit the application, does it have any adverse impact? Do they tract IP addresses or any other tracking system that would make the application invalid or get rejected during the interview because the application was not submitted by the beneficiary?

You can submit it on behalf of your wife. They won't track IP address or anything like that. Make sure your wife will get a copy of it and knows all information that you put since they ask her during interview.

Thanks!

As already answered, that's a normal message (albeit terrifying to see!), so no worries.

Also, you shouldn't have sent the DS-3032, that's an old process. You need to submit the online version (DS-261). Please go back to posts 1 and 2 and re-read the information.

CEAC is pointless now if you've submitted both fees and the DS-260. Start calling up NVC as often as you want (I recommend daily) and ask the status on each package.

The I-864A is typically used for spouses of the same household (ex: husband is the main joint sponsor, but wife is contributing as well). Your husband can just fill out the regular I-864. Doesn't matter if they're living under the same roof or not.

Thanks Saylin. Yes, I really was terrified for a few minutes. Got this picture in my head of no husband here for an eternity... Thank goodness for people on this site and sharing all of your experiences. It has helped a lot. I did re-read your notes and noticed that I used the old process. Oops. My hubby is going to do that tonight. I'm feeling a little confused at some points here.

Quick question for all of you...we did get our invoice via email today. We are able to log in again. But, when we click to pay the bill, it keeps sending us back to the same page. Is that a usual error? Is it just a "wait and it will go away" type thing?

Thanks!

Be careful with some guides linked in the first post as they're outdated. Everything should be answered in the FAQ though, as I update that every month I post a new thread.

Are you using IE to log in? If not, switch. I don't recommend any browser except IE for the payment/online forms portal, as that's what the programmers designed the site to work in. Besides using IE though, it does still take some time usually from getting the email to actually being able to pay the bill.

Thanks Saylin. I think I must have looked at an old guide somewhere along the line. Hubby actually went into PC mode and went to IE to check the same thing you mentioned. (Techy guy that he is.) He was able to do the DS-261 & we got confirmation via email instantly. They said to wait 3-5 days, so we will check every day until we can pay. He's a bit delayed anyway, waiting for police reports from Holland and France.

Thanks for all of your help!

Hi

Could it be that they first need to have the aplication (DS260) in hand for review, before they start processing the packages? I would think it makes sense in that order!?! We submitted our DS260 today - and it stated that it will be processed between 3-5 days.

But my question is, how long does it usually take to get "case complete" ?
