Hey,

I am an US citizen, I sent in an application for a green card for my sibling (for which I already got a response that they're in the waitlist). My question is, they were deported from US at POE (due to going to public school on B2 visa) at age of 15(they are in they're mid 20's now). Will this cause an issue for them to receive a green card?

Also my parents are now green card holders, will it be quicker for my sibling if they (my parents) apply for them? And will the deportation be an issue even if/when my parents apply for my sibling?

A swift response would be much appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!!

Sibling immigraton usually takes around 12 years to process. If your siblings fall under the F2A category for your parents, they should be processed alot quicker. However they have to be minor (I beleive under 21 still counts) and be unmarried. So your parents should file immediatly.

Were they physically put into deporation proceedings through a immigration Judge at the time, or were they only denied entry at the POE and just sent home again? This could make a big difference on the process of the application.

I had a feeling it would be quicker for my parents (mom) to file even though she is a greencard holder

They were denied entry at the POE, sent home and stamped CANCELLED on the visa, thats it

It will depend from which country of citizenship they have. Since they are over 21, It can take anywhere from 7-23 years for them to come to the US. See the visa bulletin. Siblings are F4 category, Unmarried over 21 is F2A category (for parents filing for their children) http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_6050.html
