Next Steps After POE?

Wifey is here now and I am trying to learn the processes for the next steps.

She came in on a CR1 so I know we have to file to lift conditions 3 months before the 2nd anniversary of her POE (or is it visa issued date?).

We checked off the "we need a SSN" on the DS230 so I am thinking that we just have to wait till the card is issued and arrives (paid for the green car fee already).

I have added her to everything during the visa petition stages except for banking. I will do that this AM and also visit the DMV to get her ID card today.

Is there anything else I need to be doing?

It is 90 days before 2nd anniversary and not 3 months.

You start having joint accounts of both you and your spouse. Get the utility bills in joint names. Get the lease in joint names. File your next Tax Returns jointly. And get the immigrant wife as beneficiary on your 401k, and add to your benefit plans...... And keep collection the evidence ready for filing I-751.

If you don't get the SSN in 30 days, walk into any SS Office and get one.

Can I walk into the SSN office sooner? I need the number to add her to some stuff or I just have to wait?

What about getting a copy of the electronic I94?

Gowon, congrats on the approval!

You don't need her I-94, that's for K-1s who are AOSing and need to prove a legal entry.

Study around on the ROC forum and start to make "joint stuff," but otherwise just enjoy life!

Hey we went in to get my husband's ssn a little sooner than we were suppose to, but I still think the lady that was processing it made a mistake... but you're on the right track it seems though. I think you have been working hard for over a year now. So just relax and enjoy your hard work in bringing your wife to the states. Go on a spa date, drink some wine, and relax !
