Oh you will now when you start getting the hot flashes..... it like someone filling you up with boiling water... there is nothing you can do to get away from it.... I have been known to stand outside on the deck in the middle of the night half naked just trying to get cool.... not a pretty sight..

Kez

Oh Kes your right there..I thought its just me that feel that way..I have to turn my a/c on all day and night and take a cold shower in the middle of the night just to cool off! :(

My mom's been taking soy pills for awhile now, which help with the hot flashes. She hasn't had a severe hot flash since starting those pills. You can get them at Target or Walmart.

Soy pills ? I have to try that.. ..thanks stina  ..

Hopefully it will work for you too! A doctor told my mom to try taking soy pills for hot flashes. There are conflicting findings about it. Some say it doesn't really help, others say it does. But I know my mom has been helped a lot by taking it, for about 2 years now.

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

Thanks. i will talk to my dr again.

she put me on zoloft to help with moodiness, but that dont usually help for 30 days.

I suffered with the same in my early 30's. My lovely doctor placed me on Sarafem, which is specifically for women going through this. Ask about it. It really worked wonders for me.

ask your doctor and/or a pharmacist if any herbals or other hormone drug therapies will contraindicate the hormones she's got you on to stop estrogen production. By taking other hormones (including herbals) you could seriously harm yourself and make things worse, or make the drug she gave you not work at all. Chemically induced menopause is different and should be treated different than natural menopause.

Peri-menopause sucks, but millions of women have suffered thru it for millenia. When you get a hot flash drink a nice tall glass of ice cold water. When you get cold put on a sweater. When you have a mood swing, tell your husband to leave the house, or give you a hug, depending on the mood ;)

:luv: thank you for that advice, i deffinatly dont want to harm my body anymore than it is already broken :)

my husband is coping pretty well even for it being just a few days, when i get moody or begin to cry he holds me, if i get real evil, like i did for the first time lastnight (im normally evil, but this was worse) he took me for a walk. hes being wonderful and so understanding thru this all. im so lucky to have him :)

Hot flashes and night sweats are miserable :crying: .... I was getting them 5-6 times a night and they could last an hour, didn't get a good nights sleep for months. Phyto-estrogen supplement helped me  and soy products are great too.
