Ok im 30 yrs old, and my dr is concidering a hysterectomy on me bc of probs with my overies. but to make sure it will be helpful shes making sure its my overies that are causing me such pain so she put me into menapause.

what am i to expect??? im already feeling different, i feel mad and hatefull, i feel like crying for no reason bla bla bla.

can anyone with experience tell me ways to cope with this??? i have to go thru this for 3 months. and i need ways to cope with this.

Wish I could help you with advice from experience, but I can't. However, I do believe what you are feeling is the symptoms of menopause, or what some refer to as perimenopause. Heck, periods can make all of us feel emotional and all wacky. I would think anything that is induced is going to feel intensified (like induced labour...omg!) Just MHO though. *HUGS* Tara.

Maybe the fact that you know what's going on will make it easier to deal with it, and easier for Ed to deal with it too. Knowing what's going on (and why) makes it easy to find ways of coping. Also, asking the dr for something to help wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I started getting the symptoms about a year ago, I am a good bit older than you but I guess it is just the same, I get night sweats and mood swings and yes very tearful for no reason... I have found that if I take a good multi-vitamin and some extra vitamin E it seam to help a bit.... I dont think there is anything that will take away all the symptoms and I have been told by my Doc that they can last for years.... and there are herbal meds out there that claim to help.... I just try to cope the best I can from day to day as I dont realy want to take drugs unless I need to... have another chat with your doctor to see if they cam recommend anything for you... you are very young to be having to deal with all this... also there is some good info available to read try google you will be amazed at all the helpsites and info pages that come up....

she put me on zoloft to help with moodiness, but that dont usually help for 30 days.

Wear layers because you will need to strip down because you get so hot you feel as if you're on fire.

Count to 25 before you swing that iron skillet at your hubby's head.

Count to 100 if 25 isn't enough.

Carry tissues to wipe your tears when you cry for absolutely no reason.

Write lots of notes because you will forget nearly everything.

Come to grips with the fact that you will have hair growth where you never have and it has no business growing.

Communicate freely and honestly with your husband because there will be times he will want to go hide in a cave. Just let him know that how you are feeling has nothing to do with him (unless it does )...and he must be aware of wild(er) mood swings.

At times sexual intercourse can be painful...if this becomes an issue be sure to talk to your doctor AND your husband!

How you feel can be very scary and unlike the "monthly" issues. It does help to be mindful of it but sometimes you just gotta ride the ride!

I had a complete hysterectomy at 29. My doctor had already put a patch on me when I came out of surgery. I'm not going to lie and tell you it's easy, but as long as you have a good doctor, you should be able to get symptoms under control easily. Also, speaking from experience, don't be afraid to take anti-depressants during the trail & error phase. Keep in tune with your body and this will help 100%.

I appriciate the advice as well as everyone elses.

as far as pain at intercorse, thats one wont be any different. i already have endometriosis, and before they do the hysterectomy this 3 month long menopause is required by my insurance before they will pay in full.

There are a number of herbal based products containing natural estrogens that DO help: Estroven or your local pharmacy's brand name equivalent. I hate to think what I would do if I didn't have these available. You can also get progesterone cream that you can use to help out with vaginal dryness, thinning skin and other side effects. You can get that also at a pharmacy and some of the herbal/vitamin supplement stores. Plus, you can always consider hormone replacement therapy. Be sure to take extra calcium as your risk for osteoporosis will now increase quite significantly. Good luck!

she gave me a shot, i forget the name of it, to put me into menopause, shut down my overies so nothing works. no periods nothing. the reason is for years ive had pains the only way to describe the pains are contractions like giving birth. she believes its due to my overies. and the only way to get my insurance to fully pay for a hysterectomy is to prove its my overies, and shutting them down if i have no more pain during the 3 months of menopause it will be proof enough for the approval of the hysterectomy. so yea, i wont have no periods, no working womenly anything. i get this shot once a month for 3 months. its a strong dose of medicine that sends you into menopause immediatly, thats all iknow, if i can find the paper i can tell you the name.

I know for a fact i have cysts on my overies, but i also have the endometriosis, which isnt good anyway. i have 2 kids as well, and been to MANY dr's, this dr i am seeing now is basically the only one who has done anything to find reasons wrong, ive been seeing her for 2 yrs now and shes great, i did get a second opinion before getting the shot, that dr agreed with my dr about the shot.

I also will go to my local herbal store and purchase some of what you named, this weekend. i will especially get calcium

I wouldn't take zoloft. No way no how.
