Hi Leelee1986,

I received my interview letter in the mail today. My interview is scheduled for May 7, 2014 (Exactly a month from today). I believe NYC (Manhattan local office) is finally moving.

Now I have to start preparing for the test!

Hope you hear very soon as well.

Hi,

Thanks for clarifying! My priority date is mid October (can't recall the exact date off the top of my head) but I am probably 2-3 weeks behind you...but it does give me confidence that my application will be moving soon! That is interesting about the borough offices...and yes, I am Manhattan too!

I think if I don't hear anything by mid - April I will give them a call...

Look forward to hearing your updates...if the interview is coming...best get studying! :-)

All the best,
Leelee1986

HI MJC79 - great news!

I will definitely keep you posted when I get some movement - hopefully in the next week or two! Exciting times!

Good luck with the interview and test...you will have to let me know how it goes and when you get your oath scheduled...we might end up in the same one if mine starts moving!!

:-)

I was just about to call in and request an infopass appointment to see what was going on, when the following showed up via email:

"On April 16, 2014, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

HOORAY! FINALLY!

10/03/13: N400 Sent to Dallas Service Center
10/11/13: Received
10/16/13: NOA
11/06/13: Biometrics

I just came back from my interview for U.S. citizenship (N400) everything went great; I answered all the questions correct, there were no issues, IO went thru each and every single column of N-400 app, also verified entries on my passports and then he manually added my recent overseas trip, after that officer gave me a “Review form” to verify my personal contact details on a sheet (I said it looks good) then asked me to sign on my snaps also n-400 app (last page) afterwards he handed over N652 form with following checked box:

B) A decision can’t yet be made about your application.

  • Notify USCIS if you change your add
  • Come to any scheduled interview.
  • Submit all requested docs
  • Send any questions about this application in writing to IO.
  • Go to any Oath Ceremony that you are scheduled to attend.
  • Notify USCIS as soon as possible in writing if you can’t come to any scheduled interview or Oath Ceremony. Include a copy of this paper and a copy of the schedule notice.

Before leaving he said do you have any question I’m like I do but it’s applicable to ask at this situation I'm like WHEN IS A NEXT OATH DATE ;) He’s like I can’t tell you because supervisor needs to review your file first! I then I asked him how long this might take ? he gave me his standard proceeding timeframe 120 days straight up I told him that I know it's gona take for ever because I never had a good luch with immigration prcoess !

Anyway fox, what do you think where do I stand? See I couldn’t cherish passing this interview moments due to creepy “decision can’t be made”? Nevertheless your positive feedback will bring a little smile on my face :)

Did any of you experience same situation or have any clue like what's cracking ?

Regards

We still have not recieved interview schedule. Here is our timline.

Oct 11, mailed in N-400
Oct 15, USCIS recieved and sent NOA1
Nov 6, Biometric
Dec 18, inline for interview.
Nothing since, :clock:so tried calling and then on March 17th had Info pass and they said file was okay and would be put on top of stack(Sure?)
Status online was changed to "inline for interview" but now with date of March 17.(so now it would not be out of date for 90 days from March 17 :ranting:)

Had second Info pass on April 25, but with no assistance on when we would get scheduled for interview. We did not get a feeling that Info pass did anything to get anything moving.

We have now sent letter to congressman and we did recieve a call from his office today. They indicated that we should get a schedule for interview in a couple of weeks. Will only believe when we see the actual interview letter. :clock:

Will continue to pass along any updates.

Did anybody change their name when becoming a USC? If so, they gave my wife her certificate of naturalization and stapled to it a form stating that she had her name changed.

When she took that to the social security office, they accepted the name change and issued her a new SS card with her new name.

However, this morning when she went to the motor vehicle, they denied her the name change saying that name change form is lacking a signature and a seal.

In particular they said the petitioner, my wife, did not sign the form. When she offered to sign it, they said no, it need to be signed and then a seal must be placed on her signature by the USCIS.

Did anybody encounter this problem? Thank you in advance.

Pals,

How far an E-Request inquiry is helpful on sitting stage of "a decision can't yet to be made on your Naturalization interview"

USCIS does not do name changes. However a judge has to approve the name change during the ceremony. So going to USCIS will not help you at all. I suggest you go to the court and inquire what you have to do. Honestly I can't help you more because I didn't see another situation as yours so I'm learning with you. Good luck.
