well after the 30 days of waiting , i decided to make an info pass , i went today march 4 to my appointment and guess what !!!! my interview is 4 days away !!!!! the officer told me that they send my interview letter 3 weeks ago but i havent received it !!! and he told me am glad that u came other wise you would miss ur appointment. he print out the letter and gave it to me im glad that i didnt wait too long as they told me over the phone

John's interview in Atlanta this morning was successful! The IO did not ask to see any of the paperwork we brought to demonstrate our ongoing marriage, although to be fair, he did see me in the waiting room so he knew John's wife was there to support his application. John said it was quick and simple, and the one hiccup we were worried about-- when John was denied entry/returned to the UK from the Atlanta airport in 2008-- was not of any concern to the IO at all. The wait for the interview as long (our appointment time was 8:25AM, but the interview did not happen until 10:00AM), but overall, the experience was fairly painless and we are pleased. The IO gave John a document that said he was recommended for approval and that official approval with an oath ceremony date would arrive in the mail in a few weeks. Hope this helps ATL people and those who went through a denied entry early in your process. Good luck to everyone!

As it has been over 90 days since my "N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling" I called the USCIS customer services hotline...they were about as useful as a chocolate tea pot.

The woman was short, rude and very unhelpful...she stared off by reading my case status...errrrmmm I know that - I'm looking at the same flipping thing as you! She then told me that although it says to call after 90 days if you haven't received the interview notice she doesn't have any updates and i "just have to wait".

She also told me that NYC field office is currently only processing applications from July 2013???? And based on that I could be waiting up to another 3 months for my interview letter....really??? Is anyone else applying in NYC and experiencing delays? It's rally irritating that you're told something will be received in 90 days....only for some other bint to turn round and say...ignore that date...you're going to be waiting another 3!!

I am in the same boat as you. I have been in line since November 18, 2014. I called the 1-800 number on Friday 2/14 and they told me that since my 90 days were not up I need to call them on 2/17 which was Veteran's day so basically I had to call on 2/18. On 2/18 I got the exact same story as you. They told me that i have to wait till May before I can even make an info-pass. Insane!!!

I called again on 2/25 and asked to speak to a tier 2 officer. The wait time was over 45 minutes so I hung up since they close at 6 p.m. and there was no way they were going to take my call.

When i called on 2/26 I got to speak to a tier 2 officer who was nice enough to create a "service request" which basically asks the local field office to send the applicant some kind of update. She asked me to call them back on 3/13 if I dont hear from the local office.Thats next week and I am still waiting.

The sole August filer from NYC on this forum got scheduled for interview on Dec 31 and took his interview on 1/29. So I am hoping that I get some kind of update soon. (my priority date is 9/27)

My husband passed his interview TODAY!!!

Oath ceremony this coming Tuesday.

The whole thing took about an hour from when we walked in to when we walked out.

He said they asked him 7 civics questions and then had him write "we pay taxes."

He said it was very short and easy, but they took awhile because they were discussing his name. He wants to change his name, but they told him that process would take months. So, he ended up just doing what would be faster and that was keeping his name.

Oh well, we are just glad it's done with and his oath ceremony is very soon.

Naturalization Approved: (From filing to oath, it took about 5 months)

I had my interview at Newark, NJ this morning scheduled for 0835. I arrived at 0815. The waiting area was busy, but organized. I was called at 1000 for the interview. The officer was a nice lady from Mexico. She had me put my right hand up and took the oath to tell the whole truth.

We started with the English test and she had me write down, "George Washington was the first President". She then asked me six questions: Name of president, how many voting members in congress, (I can't remember the rest). I got all six correct.

She then asked to see all my passports and greencard. She then went through the N-400 in it's entirety line-by-line.

She then had me sign the last page of the N400. She then said, "Congratulations, I am recommending you for naturalization." I waited an additional 1-hour and 15 minutes until I got called up to the window. He then asked me for my greencard, which he kept, he showed me my Certificate of Naturalization and asked me to verify all the information was correct. I then signed my Naturalization Certificate. She gave me a packet that contained a letter from President Obama, information on passport acquisition, registration information, and a small American flag.

In Newark, the conduct same-day oath ceremonies. I then went to the next room where I was with about another 40 other people. We watched a video about America. Then, we took the Oath and were declared American Citizens. President Obama congratulated us on a pre-recorded video.

Overall, it was very smooth and painless.

Finally done with my immigration journey.. ? took oath March 14.. 800 people including me was so relieved & happy finally we are US citizen... ? Now to petition my family esp my son. ?

45 days came and went and still no oath ceremony scheduling.

I called USCIS and they told me to wait another 30 days.
