Hello guys,

Just a couple of days ago my fiancé and I checked the status of our i129f petition and as usual we typed in our receipt number and it appears to be on Post Decision stage with a following message:

Post Decision Activity

On September 27th, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

For approved applications/petitions, post decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center of the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

My question is, does that mean our petition got approved?! I haven't received anything in the mail (yet) since it's dated September 27th, but if it is what I think it is (an approved petition) How long should we wait now for them to process visa for my fiancé? (Or how long does it usually take?)

I don't have a timeline but my case was received by USCIS on July 26th, 2013 (so it's only been like 2 months, is that normal? I just thought it takes longer.)

Thank you in advance!

Dmitriy

congrats... it was approved but please be sure to check with them why you never received NOA2 (the approval letter) or maybe in the next few days... if you do not receive so within 30 days, call them to mail you a new one as you will need that approval later once your fiancé is here in the States for AOS... take care... good luck...

you also probably didn't send the form for e-Notification of Application with your I-129f package... You would be updated on your email immediately when your petititon was approved... That's fine, but you should probably do it with your AOS package, so you don't miss anything wink.png.

I found out that when I submitted my G1145, it only alerted me of the case number and when it was received... it did not provide me with any further update just like the "alien registration number has changed".... I think you actually have to go in and create an account on their website and then set up alerts.... I am guessing....

pls don't jubilet yet until you receive a hard copy from uscis that your petition has been approved,do you why?uscis don't reaffirm i129f,they allow it to expire.they will later send you a letter telling you that your petition is close addminstratively that you refill.do you know I am telling this?is because it happened to me last year.my i129f was send back to uscis from frankfurt to uscis almost two months on the way.two day uscis got it I check online it was showing me that my petition has been reaffirmed and shipped to nvc for visa processing.after one week I started calling nvc to know my case has been received they said No,I called tier 1 they told me that my case has been reaffirmed and forwarded to nvc. after three weeks i received a letter stating my case has been addminstratively close, later I spoke with tier2 the lady politely told me that they don't reaffirm i129f.that it has 4 months to expire from they day you got your interview date.now iam married and filled i130 since march waiting for approval . even till now my old case(i129f)still showing reaffirmed.so my advice is this ,speak with tier 2 they will tell you if your case was reaffirmed or not

OP, I got the same exact message (date: July 25) when my I-129F was approved. After waiting 2 weeks without receiving my NOA2, I finally called the USCIS. The Tier 1 representative was not able to provide much information, but stated that it appeared that my petition had been approved, sent to the NVC, sent back to the USCIS (unable to tell me for what reason), and then re-approved by the USCIS. In order to get more clarification, including the original date of approval (because I had never received my NOA2) she transferred me to a Tier 2 rep.

The Tier 2 rep took a look at my case and said "huh, this is weird" (not what you want to hear from the USCIS!), and originally gave me the same response as the Tier 1 rep: the petition was approved, sent to the NVC, sent back to the USCIS, re-approved. When I asked for the original approval date, she looked into it further, and determined that it was originally approved on July 8, and sent out to the NVC in their batch mailing of approved petitions on July 25 (the date listed on my case status on their website). There was actually never any back-and-forth between the USCIS and NVC as originally stated by both reps. Her speculation is that someone entered the wrong code into the website, which generated that "approved or re-affirmed" message.

At this point I also mentioned that I had never received my NOA2, and she said she would put in a Service Request to have the NOA2 sent to me. Please make sure you do this, as it costs $405 to submit form I-824 to request a hard copy of your NOA2. I feel very lucky that she put in the Service Request, since I have read that other people have been told they need to submit the I-824 form. I received the NOA2 the next week or so.

I also went ahead and called the NVC, who had received the approval from the USCIS, and already mailed everything off to the consulate!

Your situation may not be the same as mine was, but I thought I would share my experience in case it can help you. If you don't receive your NOA2 soon, I would recommend the following:

- Call the USCIS (read this first: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/293330-calling-uscis/)

- Ask to talk to a Tier 2 rep, and expect to wait a long time (my wait time was around 3 hours)

- Be prepared with all your questions for the Tier 2 rep - she was helpful, but clearly trying to get off the line so she could help the next caller

- If applicable, ask for a Service Request to have your NOA2 mailed to you, since you never received it

- Depending on what information you get from USCIS, start calling NVC in the next week or so to see if they received your case

OR

- Skip the hassle of talking to the USCIS, and just start calling the NVC in the next week. However, if you never receive your NOA2, you'll definitely want to talk to someone at the USCIS

Best of luck!

01/29/2013 - I-129F sent
02/05/2013 - NOA1

06/21/2013 - Case transferred to TSC

07/28/2013 - Checked online status: "On 7/25/13 we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing."

08/09/2013 - Called USCIS: Petition was approved 7/8! (Have not received physical copy of NOA2)

08/09/2013 - Called NVC: Petition was received, and sent 8/5 to US consulate in Ecuador

08/23/2013 - Received letter from Guayaquil Consulate stating they are ready to begin with the final processing of the immigrant visa case (i.e. the interview)

08/26/2013 - Scheduled interview for 9/9/13.

Quick update:

I got my approval letter from USCIS in the mail! Does anyone know what is the waiting time now from NVC? Also they mentioned in the letter that I can also file form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition, to request that they notify another consulate of the petition approval for visa processing purposes. What is that form, is that mandatory?

Thank you and good luck to everyone!
