second opinion on our bonafide relationship evidence?

Hi there,

We're in a long ish marriage (going on 6 years now) that has crossed many continents. We live together. Our bank accounts are currently NOT comingled because frankly it's tough to do so in either of our countries. I have evidence of an OLD bank account we had jointly owned in another country (now closed account).

With that in mind, I would really appreciate a second opinion on whether I've included enough evidence below for a long-term marriage. It seems that because our marriage is so long, some of the stuff other people include (google talk, etc) are unnecessary, as we've lived together for 9 years now so haven't maintained a long-distance relationship.

Thanks in advance for feedback.

1. Joint “vacation club” (timeshare condominium) ownership

2. Bank statements and copy of account check from our joint accounts during part of the time we lived in (other country) (note: years prior to 2007 are missing/were destroyed)

3. Credit card statement from (ME)'s American Express that lists (HUSBAND) as an additional card holder

4. Car insurance policy in current country that lists both of us insured on the policy

5. Health insurance policies both addressed to the same place of residence in current country over the course of several years (multiple years' copies included)

6. Copy of (HUSBAND)'s foreign tax returns that list (ME) as a spouse (multiple years included)

7. Copy of current country marriage registration certificate (filed with current country government) *(this is in addition to US marriage certificate we're providing)

9. Copy of (ME)'s “spousal visit pass/visa” for current country that lists (HUSBAND) as spouse.

10. Copy of first page of (ME)'s 1040 Tax Filing (USA) that list (HUSBAND) as a spouse (filing jointly, and spouse does not file US taxes)

11. Copy of “note” from (ME)'s USA bank that notates (HUSBAND) as joint owner once he gets his social security number (included is an additional note of clarification about this statement)

12. Copy of property insurance for condominum previously owned in (other country) by husband that lists both our names

In Section C, I have also included the following additional supplementary information about our marriage:

1. A timeline of our relationship over the course of multiple countries, including brief mentions of mutual travel visits to see family, destinations, etc.

2. List of immediate family members for both of us

3. Copies of a few greeting cards we've given to one another

4. Copies of a few greeting cards given to us by the other person's parent(s)

5. Photos from our wedding

6. Copies of all pages of both our passports, which will show entry and exit stamps, to and from the United States, and other countries, that coincide with each other (joint trips).

Do you think this is enough evidence? too much? We have a home purchased in the USA but I've been waiting forever to get the deed changed to husband's name, too, so we don't have that yet and I don't want to keep delaying.

Thank you! smile.png

Looks good to me. :) Let's hear what other people have to say. I'd count being on the other's credit card as a supplementary card holder as comingling of resources btw. And sharing property ownership and stuff.

I'm the beneficiary.

Nice! If I had as much evidence as you I wouldn't even worry about it.

But a lawyer told me to becareful when putting too much evidence because often times somthing contridicts another so make sure all documents you sent are consistent

Its been a year since submitting I-130 and were still in two different countries :sleepy:

IMO, your list looks good.

For our stuff, I got her name on as many things as possible, after we married. In many instances, was dead easy. In other instances, it required a power of attorney document (which I had) .

I think a letter of attestation about your time together in each place, referencing said evidence, should explain all, in a timeline-ish fashion. You've written about that, as well, so that's a plus.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yeah, I 'm a bit worried in this regard. Because we've been all over the world, stuff is missing, and sometimes our memories are hazy. I don't want to inadvertantly introduce something that we have to scamble on later.

Thanks for this heads up.
