why did they take so longto cash check? mine was cashed within like a day of receiving. also dont think that is overland park. its a private contractor at the po box who cashes check I think. so not sure this means anything for overland park.

Only after the payment is cashed or processed does the application go to the NBC and then the NOA1s get sent.

My file was originally sent to Lee Summit and the people that I've spoken to at the USCIS deny that Overland park is anything besides a local office.

Well, there is a local office in Overland Park as well.

Hi Ive been following your posts for a while but I havent comented. I recieved NOA1 on may 21 still no news of NOA2. I currently live with my wife in Mexico city, we had to apply in the us because my wife has been in mexico as a tourist not as a resident. Do you know if there is anyway to find information while we are in Mexico City? I know I cant make an info pass appointment here but I dont know if there is any other way to find some info on my I-130.

Not a peep. I don't know what time the conference was scheduled for today, but USCIS hasn't posted Q&A and I'll be kind of surprised if they do this week. I wrote to the AILA liaison who I knew would be in attendance but have only received an out of office message so far -- she's traveling to do a tour/Q&A session of the NVC tomorrow. If she gets back to me with info before the USCIS makes it available I'll post it right away.

Our payment was processed after our NOA1 was sent to us by Overland Park. It then bounced and we were written to by Lee's Summit (even though our petition isn't there :S) asking for payment.

I guess they do process some payments at NBC.

Dunno. All I know is, we got our NOA1 from Overland Park, the pending payment appeared in my husband's bank account a couple of days later, then disappeared (mix up at the bank) and eventually bounced. Case status updated on USCIS about the bounced payment, then Lee's Summit wrote to us asking for payment, which we did over the phone with the Burlington Finance Center.

At no point does it look like the Chicago Lockbox people got involved with the payment side of our case.

I've got a sneaking suspicion of the same. USCIS customer service can't or won't give us straight answers, so we're forced to guess. Keep in mind, that our I-797s were on a letter that stated "Overland Park, KS" but mine was postmarked in Chicago. The I-797 was sent out directly from USCIS in Chicago. Either way, our petitions sat helplessly in MO or KS.

Been saying that for months now. Aren't you just sick of it? Don't you feel like a sucker yet? I sure do.

In September, we hoped Division 8 in Overland Park would save us. In October, we hoped and waited, with baited breath, for them to finally do something, anything. Instead, they waited until the middle of the month to ship us off to some other place, just how they screwed us before. In November, we will wait around longer, hoping those service centers will kick it into full gear. If the approvals don't start rolling in at top speed next week, are you just going to keep hoping, or are you going to do something? Write your senators. Write your congressmen.

We need to organize. We need to make sure that the people at the top of USCIS know we exist, and we do not accept this kind of treatment! We paid for a service, and so far all we've gotten is confusion and misinformation. Sure, bringing a spouse is a privilege, and not a right. But I thought that one of the benefits of being a USC is that we would receive this privilege in a humane and timely manner.

Our government is supposed to work for us, especially when we pay them directly with our hard-earned cash.

That is correct.

After I requested expedite I was asked to send all further correspondence to the Lees Summit address.

Still have not received my NOA2 hardcopy.

So from what I understand after going through the October 2013 ir-1 filers thread the petitions stopped going to Overland Park soewhere around mid of October. Now they're off to Nebraska instead. I wonder what they're planning to do with the May-Sep filers who have their petitions at Overland Park. Sigh.
