Please see how I recently expedited my EAD based on a job offer:

Hi Lycos,

Thanks, I happened to talk to the call centre staff last friday.

They want me to prove severe financial difficulty or exceptionally emergent situation.

While it is understandable the financial difficulty for abt 2months unemployed, guess difficult to prove.

thanks

Interesting. They didn't ask me to prove financial hardship - I said it would be difficult to prove (and I was concerned about saying anything that may contradict the I-864). I just said that I had been unemployed since November 2012 as I was made redundant and could not get another job as my petition was pending.

They just asked for proof that I had a job offer. Everyone coming on a K1 and AOS'ing as soon as they marry, is going to go through 2 months of unemployment, so that may be why they asked for that proof.

Thanks & congratulations to you Anna.

I had an interview today also. Everything went well, but finally I was struck with the EAD. They told me to go back to them once I have the EAD. They wanted to see the authorisation to work before giving the offer in writing.

I see from visajourney.com, the applications received upto 07/30 were processed. Mine was 6th Aug and it is just few more days.

All the best
