Trust your feeling. If you don't mind my asking, how long you both have been together?

Its never good to generalize about a country of

citizens based on one scammer, "ppl told me about

DomInicans" (quote)...ouch'..I feel bad and am not

from there.

Follow your gut instincts and dump that petition

Monday morning if he seem fake..liars R everywhere

Dominicans are notorious for committing fraud. DR is one of the highest fraud rate countries. I don't think the OP meant this as offensive, but it's true. I've been warned about Dominicans too, and I'm sure any other white person involved in an immigration case with a Dominican has as well.

Ouch, Its never good to generalize, like in any part of the the world there is good people, and bad people.. scammers and non scammers .......So anywhere in the world that you meet someone, its always good to get to know each other first before starting this process....... If you meet someone and hes the first in asking of when are you bringing him to UNITED STATES, That`s a bad Sign , If its true love he would ask you to stay there instead..So there is one point.... 2nd, Make sure not to choose a Party type guy doing wheeling on a pasola (motorcycle), drinking beer and with a rapper clothes trying to rap all the time (i bet you this type of guy is not looking for love yet, so this is another thing to consider and believe it or not, this guy is just looking for the papers )..... I could give out some more tips, but i have to go to bed now.... Good night !!!!

Where is your base to state the DR is one of the highest fraud rate countries? That's where I was born. Traveled many times with a tourist visa to the U.S. Later my grandpa petitioned for my mom and family so we got Permanent Residency. I became a U.S. citizen with no fraud at all.

That phrase you just repeated was the basic of A-COUNTRY telling B-COUNTRY to be careful of C-COUNTRY. You can of course substitute A, B, and C with any set of countries.

I'm glad petitioning is not an easy process. I see how it helps this country to be safer than others. I'm glad is not easy for me that have a real family, because it makes me feel is not easy for others to bring dangerous people here. Now, it is also the job and judgement of us as petitioners to make sure we aren't bringing dangerous or fraud to this country. I'm glad the OP has realize there is something to think about on her relationship. It could've been the case of a beneficiary being from a different country.

i won't go any further making examples of fraud just to stay away from putting any country on the spot. And I hope this post doesn't put any country on the spot either. To describe a country looking at a few individuals is really just silly.

I didn't say all Dominicans are frauds. I'm married to one and live here... I have seen the DR mentioned multiple times on this site and others as being a huge fraud country. I'd say after living here for quite some time, I agree. I see tons of sankies after visas, whether they be male or female. I'm happy you didn't come fraudulently and neither did your family. BUT I stand by what I said- the DR is known for fraud.

I'm glad it's not easy either. It takes a long time, a lot of money, and a LOT of patience. It helps weed out the bad.

He seems to know how the whole process works but says never wanted to come to the US before.

Idk my gut is worrying me

I will be calling on Monday.

Thanks :-(

Is there more than him knowing the whole process that brought red flags in your mind?

Sorry everyone. I actually been having quite a bad day. Spoke with my beneficiary about my feelings. And he actually got really upset. But then went to say "okay, but I need to help my family, mom is sick blah blah.... So you can just help me as a favor..."

I'm so hurt.

To answer a few questions;

We have only know each other about a year n a half personally, over 4 years because I am really close friends with a friend of his.....

Which goes to how we met. I went to DR in 2008 with said friend and he was around the neighborhood. He was really nice, as most Dominicans are genuinely very nice people.

We kept in touch through Facebook/phone/etc. I have been back to visit DR over 5 times since 2008. But I never went to technically visit him, just the friend's family which I have grown to love her family.

The last visit ,2011, was when he claimed to really like me, but I was ending a very bad relationship(which I became a single mother)

So I think out of vulnerability I accepted his "love"

he did ask me to come back there and get married because it "was the fastest way we could be together"

I do not mean to make all Dominicans bad ppl. I love that country love the ppl. However, since my first visit 90% of "warnings" were for the fake love. I can not speak on any other countries because I've never visited and never been giving advice.

And lastly, from our conversation today. I will be removing the petition. :-(

I do appreciate everyone's replies. Thank you
