So Monday I called CSC to find out whether or not my app had been sent to NVC yet since it has been 5 weeks and still no case number. Today, via regular mail, I got the response.

"This notice acknowledges the receipt of a status inquiry concerning your approved I-129F petition. To conclude processing, the CSC expects to forward your I-129F petition to the NVC in an expeditious fashion.

At the time your I-129F is forwarded to the NVC, you will receive a transfer notice confirming the shipment of the petition. After you receive the transfer notice, please understand that it takes a period of time for the NVC to update its systems. We recommend you wait 90-120 days prior to inquiring with the NVC.

Please note that the four-month validity period given when the petition was approved may be revalidated by authorization of the Department of State for an additional four months, if necessary."

then some random statements regarding if I move blah blah blah

In my mind it sounds like a lot of BS and that it is not truly an answer. Also, it appears as if CSC is trying to blame the NVC on the delays for case numbers.

Maybe by me calling and making them research it someone says "um hey, maybe we should mail this" and all of a sudden I will have my case number. But, based off of timelines I should be receiving it bynext week anyway. I was just hoping someone could simply answer "yes we mailed it, no we haven't" and if not then why and when?

anyone else notice how they said expeditious fashion....as if!!! lol

Also, has anyone actually received any kind of notice that their case was sent to NVC besides the NAO2 letter?

yeah its bs. it only takes NVC 1-2weeks at most to give the number unless theres problems. CSC wont answer directly if theyre hoarding the petitions and sending them in bulk or what. They even tried to tell people to bother their own consulates/embassy in their country coz "maybe it got directly sent there" when all this time, they havent sent out anything.

Hi Susan,

I received an email from USCIS last evening saying that our I-129F petition had been approved at the TSC, so today was indeed a happy day. Tonight I received another email from USCIS stating that our approved petition has now been sent to the NVC for processing. Of course, I haven't seen the NOA2 letter itself yet but the TSC certainly seems to have its act together in terms of keeping us informed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the process continues this smoothly.

Congrats on your NAO2 and let me say ahead of time congrats on your case number as well. (jealousy setting in lol) Since you are coming from TSC you will probably have your case number before me and I'm NAO2 8/22. I just hope that the lady at NVC, that I am sure I upset tonight, doesnt annotate my receipt number and I end up in administrative processing lol Just getting frustrated

Thanks, I gather from some other threads that the TSC was slow in getting approved fiancé petitions to the NVC over the summer. Apparently someone applied a kick in the pants and the TSC has stepped up its game. It would be nice to have the file number soon because we'll be in Rio mid-October and could possibly get the physical done, but we'll see. Hang in there, this will work out and better days are ahead!

Susan,

Did you ever get a notification email from USCIS that your file was shipped to NVC, or does it reflect that when you look at case status online? I'm reading on here that some have not received any notification of their file being sent from CSC, so am wondering if there's any use in checking the USCIS website at this stage - it may be better just to wait a bit longer and then start calling DOS.

Cheers,

Randy
