Good day fellow members,

Has anyone had any experienced with this that's confusing me. Our petition was approvedkicking.gif on August 27, which I thought the next step is NVC. The form I-797C Notice of Action states that it was forward to the listed consulate. It says to contact the consulate about visa issuance. NVC does not have our petition and it's been 30days today.

Can USCIS forward a petition to the consulate without going through NVC? I am confused, and maybe on Monday I will contact the embassy in my fiancées country, because I don't know 100% where my petition is.

All the notices are worded that way. They all go through the NVC on their way to the appropriate consulate. Some people have been told it is taking 8 weeks to get to the NVC. There are other posts about it here on VJ. Here is one > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/442404-nvc-8-weeks-to-receive-case/

~ Moved from K-1 Process to National Visa Center-topic is about file going through NVC and other similar threads can be found in this forum ~

Ok, good to know. The reason I asked is because I called USCIS and the representative told me to call the consulate where it was forward. I told her that it should have been forward to NVC, but I don't know how qualify she was. I'll tried again on Monday..THANKS

You will have a visa number that has nothing to do with your case number filed .... you already finished the first part of the process .... we have no way to know nothing for a while

now they should send to you a copy of you NOA 2 and then the NVC will send you the new number of you visa case .... oops8rh.gif in this transition we have no way to find it out ...

You have to way at least 3 week to cll the embassy in Bogota if you do not received the visa case number. I am in the same boat , if I received something I will let you know reading.gif

we have to be ready for the medical and the final interview into the final destination. devil.gif

good luck !!
