I-751 Removal of conditions

So I applied to have the conditions of my green card removed last week. 87 days before my second anniversary of entry. And today I received a letter telling me that my 'conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year'. Does this mean they'll also be sending me a new green card with the new date? Because otherwise my license, which I need to drive to work every day, will be expiring in less than 3 months. Now I'm to wait for a bio metrics appointment, and for them to review the supporting documents that help establish eligibility to remove the conditional basis of my permanent residence.

Has anyone still on here gone through this or is in the process of going through this??? Or does everyone jump ship once they get their green cards?

No, you won't get a new card until the I-751 is approved. But, your conditional GC with the letter, is the same as having a valid GC. You can renew your license without any problem with the expired GC and the letter together. My wife just received her letter today, too. Best of luck with your ROC.

I don't know where you live, but you can probably renew your license now before your conditional GC expires and it should be good for the normal license renewal period. My wife's license was issued for 8 years (1 year ago) under her conditional GC (but driving laws are state dependent.)

Thanks! I thought I responded to this month's ago. I could renew with just the years extension letter but they only gave me a year license (I'm in alabama). The frustrating thing about that is that originally it expired on dec 18 2013, my new green card was approved dec 23 and arrived before the new license did. Oh well! It works out
