What's your opinion on using immigration help services?

Hey guys,

So a question came into my mind earlier today--what is everyone's opinion/experience with using some sort of legal immigration help service for processing spouse visas? I'm planning on bringing my husband to-be, a uk citizen, to the US via the I-130, but he's got a prior tourist visa denial (as of September 2013) so I'm wondering if it would be worth some extra "peace of mind" to pay a little extra to use one of those services. Has anyone used any of them? Are they really of any help? I just really don't want to get another denial on the basis that we just simply didn't know enough of what we needed going into it.

There's no need.

His prior tourist visa denial shouldn't be an issue.

UK citizens don't usually need tourist visas though, because of the VWP, so why was he not able to use that? Could be something in there that you may need more advice on.

Nah, he just wanted to come to the US for 6 months which was beyond the 90 day period you could get covered under the VWP.

If you do some research and use VJ, you should be more then fine. If there is something specific to his case that's out of the ordinary, or if you you don't want to deal with any of the applications, you can always hire a immigration attorny for a couple $K's.

I don't think there's anything out of the ordinary about his case. He is disabled due to CP, but completely competent and well enough to go through the process. The only reason we came away from the B2 visa interview without a visa is simply because we were not prepared and didn't have proof of things like insurance to cover the trip and the like. I look back now and cringe with how silly we were to think we could just go in and tell them our plan. But anyway, we don't mind doing the forms and everything--just gunshy but I suppose that's only normal.
