I was reading Captain Ewok's post here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=300 and it talks about touches and case numbers and how to check status online. There was a mention of finding the case number at the back of the check/s used to pay for the filing fees and I'd just like to ask if anyone knows which one it is. There are several numbers with different codes. Maybe it starts with a specific letter or has a corresponding number of digits. Would anyone happen to know?

I'm sorry, I just can't wait to create a uscis account online. :)

02/28/07 - EAD card ordered (Day 87)

03/02/07 - Received EAD

03/08/07 - Interview Day (Day 95)-- Approved! Whoohoo! Thank you Lord!!

03/09/07 - Email notice: "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident"

03/13/07 - Email notice: "Card production ordered"

03/19/07 - Permanent Resident Card and "Welcome to America" notice received!!! Yahoo!!!

WAC = better known as CSC

EAC = better known as VSC

LIN = better known as NSC

MSC = Missouri Service center

I cannot recall what TSC is off the top of my head.

Anyway it is three letters followed by 10 numbers. Typically the thrid line down on the endorsement.

I mailed mine to Texas, was transferred to CSC and still had WAC for the first three letters of my case number.

Odd that Texas is different in this respect than Nebraska (who are also CSC transfers).

Odd that Texas is different in this respect than Nebraska (who are also CSC transfers).

Eventhough you submitted your petition via TSC, your NOA1 was issued from CSC (thus the WAC prefix). I submitted mine via NSC which transferred it to CSC and I as well have an NOA1 with a WAC prefix.
