First I accidently clicked K-3 visa in my profile. I really filed just for the IR-1/ CR-1.

I just recieved mail from the government saying that my wife's interview date is January 19th. In the final packet they said my wife could go to St Luke's Extension clinic in Manila.

I am confused about something though. Where is the visa application? Shouldn't I have recieved one in my packet? Is my wife supposed to fill one out before her interview or do they have her fill one out at the interview itself? I have not seen anything about filling it out in any of the papers the government sent me so I am confused.

Also the government sent me a list of the documents they recieved from me. It says,

for your information, listened below are the copies of documents received/notrecieved at the NVC and included in your case file. Please review to make sure that you bring to the visa appointment the original of all required documents.

Then it shows this list.

OF-169 Status Yes/Document Completed/reviewed

Of-230-1 Status Yes/Document Completed/reviewed

OF-230-11 Status Yes/Document Completed/reviewed

Passport Status Yes/Document Completed/reviewed

Birth Certificate Status Original Document Received

Adoption Status Exempt Document not needed

Marriage Certificate Status Original Document Received

Marriage Termination Status Exempt Document not needed

Court Records Status Exempt Document not needed

Financial Evidence Status Yes/Document Completed/reviewed

Custody Papers Status Exempt Document not needed

Military Records Status Exempt Document not needed

Philippines Police Certificate Status Original Document Received

IRS Waiver Status Exempt Document not needed

Then it says

Please review the other information provided in this packet 4 to make sure you also bring the medical examination results, correct size and number of photographs, and the correct amount for the visa application and issuance fees..

So my question are as follows if someone would please answer them.

Does my wife only have to bring copies of the documents listed above and nothing else?

Does my wife have to make copies of any of the documents that they stated were exempt and not needed?

I know this will sound stupid but I am having trouble finding what the OF-169 and OF-230-1 and OF-230-11 is. Are those 3 documents the I-130 and DS-230 part 1 and DS-230 part 11? I am not sure if they just changed the name of the documents or not.

Since they listed above that they received financial evidence, do I have to recopy the tax records for the past 3 years for both co sponsers and myself which were used in the affidavit and send it all to my wife to bring to her interview?

For proof of our relationship, we have some pictured from almost a year and a half ago, but I moved to the Philippines for 1 year and just got back 2 weeks ago. I took photocopies of my passport showing my stamps which prove I lived there for a year. With that kind of evidence, is anything else really required to prove our relationship? I mean I lived with her and her parents and brother for a year. Are letters and stuff like that even required with that kind of proof of relationship?

And my final question is, Do I need to get a visa application and fill it out before the interview date and have my wife take a fully filled out visa application with her to the interview? Or is she going to be given a visa application at her interview.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my post and respond. It is much appreciated.

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question - maybe someone in the form for the Phillipines would know better.

Rex1,

OF-169 is now DS-2001. It includes some or all of the following, depending on the particular consulate - the visa application instructions, checklist of items needed, and a statement of preparedness for an interview.

OF-230 is now DS-230.

Thank you. You would think the government would be smart enough to clarify this. After going on yahoo and google for like 3 hours I couldn't find a single website that told me the OF-230 was now the DS-230.

I do not have a copy of the OF-169. But I do have a paper from the gov't that says they received the OF-169. Will this be a problem for my wifes interview? Can she just bring a copy of the gov't paper saying they received it?

Thanks for everyone's time answering these questions for me.

Rex,

The paper that you are looking at may be as out of date as the form references. The consulate may no longer use OF-169. The DS-230 was submitted to the NVC a few months back, yes?

As riblet wrote, you need to get responses from people who have experience with how the IV unit in Manilla operates.

Yeah it really doesn't make sense. I recieved the DS-230 from the US gov't and then they send me this paper checklist of forms they received and they called it the OF-230. It's like they made some error telling me they received the OF-230 1 and OF-230 11 when the only 2 part paper they ever sent me was the DS-230 1 and DS-230 11
