someone had a post awhile back talking about how he just installed a bidet for his fiancee who

was soon to arrive

So......do most filipinas simply adjust to the cano ways? using toilet paper?

haha...I'm serious tho....I never thought about it before

And what is that thing called when they use the pail and bucket...I know I read that it has a name.....can't recall...

(this should prove interesting....)

Posted

Oh This is interesting!!! hahahah!

Anyways, In my case I improvise instead of buying a bucket and dipper (tabo), I recycled a bottle of downey (the smaller one)

and just fill it in when in use.. cuz my 8y/o daughter doesn't like using Toilet paper alone cuz she said she will smell stinky.

so after wash then dry it out with toilet paper. content.gifcontent.gifcontent.gifcontent.gif

Thanks bgamb,

I never even thought about that.. I wonder how many other things I am missing like that???

I think we are going to be learning A LOT of interesting things in the future

How about....tampo...? If you don't know what that is....you have not done your proper reading about the Philippines

Just teach her to pee in the shower like mine does.

Yeah but she would be taking 8 showers a day.....

You know...I am trying to envision how this tabo works with a bowel movement...haha

Anyone with the courage to describe it in detail for me??

Obviously it can't just be pouring water down your lower back,,,,,there is some "hand action" shall we call it involved as well??

Posted

Some go cheap (see Niblet) and get a cold water bidet with a spray head. others buy a heated seat with sprayer and air dryer. But they are used to tabo, so either will will work. mine doesn't wanna fork over $$$ for a heated seat one

that's hilarious....!but I doubt it is true....(the mixing part)

Why doubt it? Many cultures do this. That's why it's an insult or forbidden to shake with the left (unclean) hand. We "civilized" cultures are the ones who don't clean our private parts so well. (Comparatively speaking)

I know all about tampo. I think anyone that has spent any amount of time with their Filipina has seen it. Lucky for me, it doesn't last very long or happen very often.

OK, I'm well aware of Tampo which basically translates to a Pinay fit. But what does that have to do with going to the bathroom? My Fiance and her two young boys did just fine at a Beautiful Radisson Suite in Cebu with normal western toilet and toilet paper. Yes the young boys Pee'd all over the floor but what young boy doesn't? LOL. I have no worries about this. My Fiance and Kids are from Zamboanga so is this a regional thing?

I told my fiance to install toilet bidet also lol, when he was here in the philippines he asked me how do we wash that part esp after you "poop" hahah funny. I said it's more hygienic using water than tissue.
