My fiance received a call from the US Embassy in Cairo on September 3rd, informing him that our case was approved and that they need a new medical report and police report from him. He completed both and sent them on September 14th. The US Embassy received them on September 15th. Our case still states Administrative Processing on CEAC with the date of September 15th so I decided to call DOS today. The DOS representative informed me that we are still in AP!!! I told him but the Embassy told us we were approved and requested documents which we sent. He replied stating that the documents were received by the US Embassy but our case is still in AP!

I don't understand!! Why would they tell us we are approved after over 8 months of AP and then tell us we are still in AP?! My fiance hasn't traveled out of the country and they have had his passport this whole time.

Please, can someone shed light on what in the world is going on? I feel like we are moving backwards, not forward!!

I had the same scenario, they called me to renew my medical test and send the results with my passport . . I did

My case changed to "Issued" on CEAC the day after but I didn't get my passport back from the embassy . . . after sending multiple emails to the embassy I called DOS to check and heard the same reply "Administrative Processing" (though my case still shown as Issued on CEAC) . . . . still waiting
