As I'm reading the CR1 posts most people are getting interviews by 6 months. We did DCF On July 5th. We are currently still waiting on packet 4 (the interview date. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

A. Voci

The only true comparison is against people doing DCF in the same country...

YMMV

It could be related to how your DCF is working. We filed for my I-130 November 18, I received packet 4- invitation for interview on December 2nd (postponed it to January 9).

I know my application went from Sarajevo to Zagreb for visa processing but I did contact Zagreb before hand (right after we filed with Sarajevo) just to ask about medical exam.

Have you tried contacting your embassy that processes the application?

Best of luck,

our I-130 was approved same day as we filed, and we had an interview just 32 days later. it all depends on the consulate and the backlog.

As others have said to get an apples to apples comaprison, you have to determine the DCF time vs. the US time in your own consulate. When you DCF, you save the processing time that would have been expended by having USCIS review your I-130. That usually takes 3 to 6 months... this is the time you're saving when you DCF...

If the waiting list for an interview is a month at one consulate and over a year at the other... A US I-130 case will process faster at the consulate that only has the 1 month wait for an interview...

A.Voci,

You also save the time taken by the NVC to pre-process the visa application, since you submit your visa application directly to the consulate rather than to the NVC.

It does seem strange that, after they had approved the I-130 petition on the same day you submitted it, it took the consulate more than 3 months to send you the visa application package. When did you respond to that?

Yes, we've called the embassy MANY times and they just tell us to be patient. They have our packet 3 and now we're just waiting on packet 4 (with the interview date)
