My wife has her visa interview scheduled at 10:15 AM in the morning at the Baltimore USCIS office. I have my oral exam for my graduate program scheduled for 2 PM that same afternoon. The distance between the places would only take 30 - 45 minutes of travel to get between the two. Question is how long does the interview itself typically take from personal experience? If we showed up early to the building, could we possibly start our interview sooner? We called the office and they weren't helpful.

Our background:

I am a born and raised US citizen

Wife is born and raised Canadian who has relatives living in US

Wife got a student visa to come to college here in the US

We met while at college and started dating.

I graduated and moved to Baltimore for graduate school and she followed me out here a year later so we could get married

She hasnt finished school but is taking online classes now

We applied for adjustment of status and am now have the interview scheduled

We just received an email stating that travel permission and work permission have been granted and are waiting for the cards to be printed and mailed now.

It will all depend on what will be going on that day and how the USCIS officers are able to do the interview earlier. Some locations are very helpfull to accomodate you in a situation like that, others are very strict. The interview itself can take anywhere from 5 minutes to over an hour or longer. If you want to be on the safe side, I would reschedule one of the appointments. Good luck.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

That's a pretty tight schedule, and you may very well be at the first interview for hours before you even get in. Keep in mind if you try to change the green card interview (not recommended) you might not get another one for several months.
