Typos happen...

I was just reprinting forms to compile a copy package of our original I-129F, when I was reading through my fiancee's letter of intent. In all the mayhem, we missed a typo... where he mispelt my name! Jackquelin instead of Jacquelin (because he's used to calling me Jackie). I know I may be worrying over nothing, but what if I get some jerk who doesn't realize it's a typo and not that he actually doesn't know me well enough to spell my name!?

Am I just being a crazy person now?

Thanks!

Although I agree with the answers you got so far, if you didn't send your petition yet, you could ask your fiance to write another letter and send it to you, just for the sake of sleeping better (not that you won't find other reasons to worry - we all do).

You're just being as crazy as most people here. We worry about anything and everything, after all this is one of the most important things we ever did.

Good luck.

No problem with that, they just read that, nothing on that letter is entered into any systems so not a problem.

If the typo were on the I-129F or G-325A then there would be cause for concern.

It was HIS OWN mum's name he mispelled and gave the wrong year she was born !

hahahhaha !

We were fine...

Do not worry, OP. But....You may want to do what JaJo says if it is getting under your skin.

There is much to be said about peace of mind ! I am a HUGE fan of it !

I would have asked hubby to do the same, had I known about his typos before we sent it in.

We have the same problem. When we were printing all the filled-up forms, we were so sure that we got everything right. When we double checked it, some were mispelled so we use correction fluid to cover it and then handwritten the correct details. We didn't sign the correction we made as a proof that we're the one who corrected it and not somebody else, though we signed and each and every page of the forms where our signature's needed. Do you think there will be problems? Now I'm starting to get worried again...

Don't worry about something that is now out of your control as you will just worry yourself to death. What will be will be. An RFE is not the end of the world.

There shouldn't be any typos if you can help it, especially where it's crucial like names that will appear in documents and such, as they'll see it's different from your passport, etc. Typos in the letter of intent I think are just fine though.

Just one tip to everyone filling out forms. Double checking is not enough. Triple check, but do it at different days 'cus sometimes you only catch a typo or missing info, etc after you let it sit for a while without thinking about it.

Instead of writing NE for US state, we wrote "Ne" and my fiancee wanted it to be changed to NE, so we just handwritten it. Instead of Springfield, I typed Springfiled so we corrected it again by handwriting. We never mispelled names though... just these small typos. We mailed our paperwork last Dec. 7 and until now, we haven't heard from them, not even the return receipt from the UPS store. Is it normal? Based from other timelines, most of the time, it takes less than or at least a week to hear from them. As for ours, it's been more than a week and still nothing. :( Help, I'm having a heart attack from being a worrywart!
