I know it hard trust me, but the wait is worth it. I almost felt like they made it longer to see if we would stay together, because lots of people are being denied due to consulates thinking relationships aren't real..but for those of us who have our fiancés so much farther then others, it only makes us that much stronger. Hang in there girl, bc they are slow and when you least expect it you will hear from them.

Yes, the wait time is definitely a tool they use to weed out the fake relationships. A lot of people can't do what we do; being separated from the people we love for months, years at a time coupled with the stress of the immigration process itself. Just look at it that way (if you can)- we're stronger and better for surviving this process. Our relationships are worth it! Just keep on keepin' on and good luck :)

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

The senators and congressmen who send out canned responses can't do anything else. USCIS does not work for them, nor are they answerable to them. All they can do is make an enquiry on your behalf, and you can do that yourself. It hasn't any more 'clout' because it comes from their office.

And it goes in swings and roundabouts. One time K1's are faster, next time you check CR1's are. One service center speeds up, and then slows down while the other appears to pick up speed. It's the nature of the beast, but they are the only game in town.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

No One im sure told her who she could marry but the govt tells you whether or not you can be with your loved one in the US....the only option is wait or go to their country....

her original post clearly says that she won't let anyone tell her who she can or cannot marry, she was referring to USCIS

This is very true. Its a cycle. I had a co worker who filed 6 months before us for a K-1. Our CR1 was approved at he USCIS 2 months before his. His wife entered the USA 2 weeks after my husband. But we are done for now and they still need to adjust her status and stuff.

My husband and I were just talking last night about how the last year has passed so fast. Once you are together all this time waiting wont feel that long. But I know know it feel like its taking forever.

The more frustrating thing is no one seems to be in control. Talk to tier2 and they don't even know half of what we know. Wonder how they do their job.

I'm sure their job requirement would be how confuse can you get and how confuse can u make other people. If you have that skills, you get the job.

I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.

My husband and I were just talking last night about how the last year has passed so fast. Once you are together all this time waiting wont feel that long. But I know know it feel like its taking forever.

It's very frustrating, we all understand that. While we were waiting, a couple who hadn't even met each other until after we had filed were approved. One of those rougue pull it out of line and train someone on it ones or something you hear about from time to time. They did say at the time they didn't expedite, so it was pretty irritating to quite a few waiting months.

And then, were unfortunate enough to get yanked out of line ourselves, at NVC, and put in AP. At a time when K1's were not subject to that there, and no one here could tell me a darn thing about it. The consulate in AKL had never heard of such a thing either, which I found a bit nerve wracking. Slowly more and more people in the same perdicament started to appear with the same questions, and we had quite a huge thread on that, as people came in, and got out, of AP. We ended up (wouldn't you know it) with the record length of stay, just short of 8 weeks. We missed Christmas together, and it was March before everything was wound up. I was told at interview that it was random, and the FOIA request turned up the same story. Of course when you don't know that it isn't your age, or where you are from, or that something else is going on you have no control over, it's maddening.

The entire process ought to be a lot more transparent.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Not sure about trends these days, but K-1 petitions were generally approved quicker than the spousal visas in the past. At that time, 7 months for a spousal visa was good if not the norm. We, as a K-1 petitioner/beneficiary, waited just over 6 months. I know some at that time that got approved sooner. However, the only associations I have been able to make with anyone here getting a K-1 approved in 1 or 2 months were due to the USC petitioner either one, being military personnel, or two, having some substantial health issues. Without a waiver, I haven't heard of anyone getting approved in 39 days.

when we decide to be with someone abroad, we have to be prepared for the obstacles to be togther---> it' so hard to wait BUT in the end it will be worth it. I hope you hear something soon and just think about how it will be worth it once this is all over!

good luck!!

A few years back, the one that got approval after meeting a month after we filed was 24 days. That's why we were a little annoyed. Of course we had a lot of questions for them, no military, no health issues, nothing out of the ordinary. We were told then in that thread by a long time borad member, and mod, that the odd one whips through, on account of some adjudicator training someone up. True? Who knows. There seems to be so little rhyme or reason to any of it.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

AND OMG ONCE WE DO GET A INTERVIEW I KNOW IN TURKEY HELL BE PUT ON AP, WE DIDNT WANT TO BRING HIM HERE NOT AMRRIED AND NOW BEEN MARRIED 2 YRS AND STILL NOTHING .YES VERY FLUSTRATING TO MARRY THAN TRY MY HEART GOES OUT TO U AND ALL WHO GOT MARRIED FIRST ...

I sit here and read about this persons approval in 39 days...and here I am waiting 7 months...with nothing from NBC....are we being punished because we choose to marry instead of applying for a fiance visa? I'm so disappointed in the whole process and I don't believe anything anyone tells me anymore...I have had lawyers tell me.....You are an American...your husband is Arab..you can't go live in his country so it is the U.S Governments job to bring your husband to you....why did I ever believe these words....I have already decided that if this process takes much longer for approval..I will go live in the West Bank....I refuse to let anyone tell me who I can marry, and who I can love.

It's a difficult and drawn out process. Keep the faith, be patient, don't let the craziness of the "system" get at you. I know there are so many steps and things that simply do not make any sense at all but in the end it will all be worth it. You know who you love and let God take control. Turn it over to him.

God Bless
