Fastest Way to Get Her to USA

At this point, you cannot file anything for her.

To file for a K-1 fiancee visa, you must have met face to face within the last 2 years before you file. So, get on a plane and meet her anywhere in the world. Keep copies of your plane tickets and take lots of pictures together.

You must meet her face to face if you want to bring her to the US.

Hi folks,

@ Aaron ... Can I go to Moscow and Marry her there and then come back to US and Start K-3 Visa!?!?

Thanks,

You can do that, but you will be wasting money. There is no reason to pursue the K-3 spousal visa when the CR-1 spousal visa is available. Both take about the same amount of time. The K-3 requires her to file to adjust her status in the US before she can get a green card which means 6 months of waiting in the US and 2-3 months where she cannot leave the US or work. With the CR-1, she enters and automatically gets a green card that allows her to immediately travel and work.

Do not bother with the K-3. Pursue the CR-1 if you want to marry in Russia.

I would suggest the CR-1 route.

Read the Guide for petitioning a spouse on this forum. (Button at the top of this page.)

Read the Instructions for Form I-130.

Make sure you can satisfy the initial requirements to petition for a spouse.

Then, go read the Instructions for Form I-864. You will need to meet the financial requirements in order to pursue a visa for your wife.

Mr Zorrow,

You're welcome!! I've been to St Petersburg. Honestly I felt much safer once I got back on the cruise ship. Be careful where you go. Read US State Department updates and info on where it is safe to go. Always watch your back. Good luck and Gob Bless.

Hi David& Zoila,

That is why I was thinking may be I can get My Russian Honey to go to Turkey or may be some European Country to get Married ... and then follow my CR-1 afterwards ...

Q: Is this doable thing?

Thanks,

Z-man,

Yes you can do that. But I am not sure about Turkey as far as current conditions politically. Just be careful where the two of you go. Sweden is really nice and I think pretty safe. I was there on the same trip when I visited St Petersburg and it was like the difference between night and day as far as safety was concered. Of course I have admit I recently visited Mindinao...the State Department warns against that but I had family members there carrying machetes protecting myself and my spouse. I probably would not so that agin but I survived. It seems Americans really become preferred targets in many of these countries. God speed my friend. Be safe.

Aloha Ke Akua

Make sure you know what the requirements are for marriage in a foreign country. It's not easy sometimes.

In San Diego, it is easy for any two people to get marry. Less than 30 minutes. Two foreigners can get marry in under 30 minutes.

In some countries, it is can be really hard for a foreigner to marry a local citizen or resident. It may be impossible if both partners are not citizens or residents of that country.

In this scenario it's not only you who has to prove you're available to get married but also probably her, and then she'll need to legalize documents in Russia. I think it would be a harder option all together.

I'm the beneficiary.

Don't have a timeline? Don't know how to get started with it? Do it for the statistics sake: VJ video guide

Filing for a USC spouse visa (IR-1/CR-1) and not sure what comes next? Check out the VJ IR-1/CR-1 guide

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.
