Ok,

So i'm having my sister and brother write me affidavits to include with my I-130 package....

can someone please tell me do they need to swear in front of a judge or a lawyer or what? I don't know where to go for thatcrying.gif

Can't they just write them, sign them, and send them with the application??

Its been a year since submitting I-130 and were still in two different countries :sleepy:

Doesn't even have to be notarized. I simple statement affirming the affidavit at the end is all that is all that is required. I wouldn't use family members, however. Common friends, or reputable members of the community would be better. Affidavits don't have much weight, however.

So who will affirm it? How and where do I affirm it?

The person testifying in the affidavit signs it, after adding the sentence at the end:

"I declare (or certify, verify, or state) under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct. Executed on (date)

We used friends and colleagues I think. They just signed their names on the multiple copies of their documents and we were good to go.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.
