The Bush family aren't bad people. They're decent people. I don't like their politics - and Jr. crossed a few too many lines for the politics for me - but they're good people. I've always had a lot of respect for Bush Sr. His putting the good of the country ahead of his re-election prospects was quite amazing. He's a very intelligent man. I respect Bush Jr. not for what he did in office but for what he has done and continues to do all across Africa saving and improving the lives of so many of the least fortunate people on this planet. It's one of the privileges a US President has after leaving office. He can really make a difference in the world and how they use that ability often says more about their personality than their time in office. I applaud the elder Bush for making this statement. He may have been one of the few one term Presidents. But he is a great man.
