Goofed by not saying IR-2 for stepkids on application.

Well I mailed off the complete packet for the IR-1 visa for my Wife and two stepkids, but at the bottom of the G-325a it asks what you are petitioning for and I checked "other" and then wrote "IR-1 Visa" for Wife and Stepchildren" instead of writing something like "IR-1 visa for Wife and IR-2 Visa for stepchildren". (I only submitted two G325's, one for me and one for my Wife, on my Wifes' G325 she correctly checked "other" and wrote "IR-1 Visa", we did not submit G325's for the two stepchildren but submitted I-130 forms for all three persons of course.

Do you think that because I never wrote "IR-2 Visa" anywhere on the forms or in my cover letter that it will be a problem? I would imagine not and that the reviewers will just make the adjustment there?

They live in Bogota, Colombia.

On an unrelated note, I can't figure out how to add my new timeline using the edit function...

I don't think the petitioner get to choose what immigrant category they want. Uscis makes that determination based on the evidence you presented.

Oh I see what you mean... When you check "other", you will write what form you're submitting I.e. I-130.

But then I stand to be corrected.
