I've already talked about Chicago, and no one ran with my posted methods of rounding up the gang bangers.

I'm not cool with putting mothers in death's way.

It's not a black problem, it's a problem with a certain demographic that isn't delineated along lines of colour. The common denominator is endemic poverty. If you continue to blow the smoke that it's a black culture attitude then you are not seeing the whole picture, just a coloured one.

It said in the study that poorer whites out performed wealthier whites.

Heck i don't know beans about education etc, but it would seem race is the one unifying factor not economics.

@ the conciliator

For what it is worth, I don't think you are a racist to be honest, but I do think you pick up too easily on the idea that these problems are unique to 'black' areas. More black people are affected by these issues and are sometimes more visible BECAUSE us white people kept them in poverty using segregation until the 60's and despite the rumours that everyone in the US is a potential millionaire, actual upward movement between socio economic groups in the US is extremely rare.

I don't disagree with this.. Most people don't realize blacks in most of the south only started achieving equality in the Mid-80's

What I do think, and some see it as racist is that the pendulum has swung too far the other way and we enable behaviors that are absolutely destroying black society.

I know one thing, and that's this, there is no significant difference between black people and white people in terms of 'race' We are all of the one race, humanity. I really don't care if you couch it in terms of some 'cultural' deficit or intellectual deficit in black people, it's one and the same, you are extending a blanket racist argument that black people are inferior to white people and that is quite simply ignorant and wrong.

Again Danno, that's complete racist bullshit. Blacks are not less educated, nor are they less likely to be able to understand statistics. There may be more less well educated black people than white people percentage wise in the US and that makes perfect sense because black people tend to be, what's that word Danno, oh yeah DISADVANTAGED due to the legacy of RACSIM that exists within the US.

Just to be clear the whole black people statistics thing I started..What i meant to say is that some black people( mainly here), like to say things like, whites murder more than blacks, but when you adjust it for percent of population they are way over represented.

It came out as a blanket statement that implied all Black people thought that way or could not understand statstics..I was called out and rightly so

Let's move on

No..I am just telling the truth..It's a fact. No where have i said they are inferior.

Hell what is the root cause..I don't know.I thinks it's a combination of several factors including apathy.

But to pretend it does not exist because that might be racist is insane.

It's like trying to pretend white people did not oppress blacks for a longtime because it may hurt my feelings that my grandpa was a hard core racist.

I don't know how we are enabling behaviours in one ethnic group exclusively . How does that work?

How has the racist pendulum swung so that white people suffer from racism? I really don't see how that is an argument. I can see that there are now black people who are so fed up with the ignorance of some white people that they are extending the favor of 'skin' hatred against white people and that is not something that anyone should be happy about but it's not systemic racism, not a cultural norm and not something that we need to worry about in terms of a swing to far in favor of black people, that's just nonsense. When we see posters posting that they wouldn't employ a white guy because... in the same way that i have seen uposted here about black people, then we can start worrying that white people are under threat, but until then, it's just ridiculous nonsense that some far right wing extremists use to manipulate they system.

Agreed. They need to do away with all forms of affirmative action immediately. Same with hate crime laws. People are people. There should not be a congressional black caucus nor a NAACP. Can't ask to be treated equally, while asking for special treatment at the same time.

Thank you..I just didn't have the energy to point out the glaring obvious truth

UGA spends millions to attract minority students, but has a hard time because so many of the higher achieving blacks want to go to the all black colleges in Atlanta.

In a color blind world, if you want to go to UGA , apply and if you qualify then go

in a color blind world the all black colleges would be working just as hard to recruit whites.

Please take a moment to read the subtitles...

& Now...Please consider had this been a Black man beaten by Whites...What would be the reaction?

& Consider this - it was a Black man which came to his rescue.

Racism against Blacks has indeed come back to haunt the White man. & Still does in more ways than just violence.

You can't start with un unlevel playing field and expect it to magically level up on its own. Yes, there are problems with all measures that are designed to even things up, but doing nothing will just prolong the injustice. The problem with the US is that you guys think that you have infinite social mobility but the stark reality is that you have extremely low levels of social mobility and expecting black people to just be able to compete on equal terms in a white dominated world is insane. Sure, it would be nice to be able to put this stuff behind us, I agree, but I do not agree for one minute that the black people of the US are able to project black supremacy or that white people are now the underdogs, that's just rubbish.

Who decides when it's a level playing field? What goal needs to be met?

So why aren't black colleges spending great efforts to recruit white students ?

I've touched on this before. No one is asking for special treatment, they created these things because we weren't allowed in the National Caucus, because blacks STILL get hired less than whites, even with better records. If you want these things gone, treat us as equals.

How many white kids want to go to a black college? How many have been turned down because they're white?

Ok. Blacks are allowed in the national caucus now, so there's no need for the black caucus. When is it going away? How can blacks expect to be treated as equals, when they ask for special programs? It doesn't add up. At some point the black folks need to start solving their own problems, instead of blaming everything on racism. At some point people are going to get tired of that. I think many already are. Look who got elected president, TWICE! The last time with 332 electoral votes running against a guy that's about as white bread as you can get!! The last time a president got 332 or more electoral votes was Clinton in 1996.

How many black kids are being turned down to go to universities because they're black in recent times? I'd say none. In fact the opposite is true. They lower the standards for black applicants to meet affirmative action programs.
