As I have pointed out before, word have definitions.

bigotry |ˈbigətrē|nounbigoted attitudes; intolerance toward those who hold different opinionsfrom oneself.

I have provided data and facts to support my POV and yet you continue on in intransigence.

Youhave provided no source no fact not even a theory to add weight to your ideas; That seems to fit the definition of bigotry more closely than anything else posted here.

Own it.

If more data will revive you from your stupor let me know I can provide.

In the mean time, I will again insist, you and your mindset are the cause of the problem and the continuance of it, I on the other hand, look at the problem squarely and study what might be done to begin the repair work. (no easy task, yet doable)spanking-kidsjpg-e8ceb7b4d2b86d0e_large.

You have done what? Danno we can both see the problem in our society, it's the issue of how to help and motivate those who fail to thrive educationally, financially and emotionally but I see this problem as being one that is caused by deficiencies in our society and you see it as a being one that is caused by deficiencies in the black community. It's that simple and that bigoted and you keep hammering that nail in, consistently and with vigour.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I think you are on to something here.

If you are right, well, thats a worrisome thought.

as now, a large segment of the Black community are going backwards we can only conclude, those "deficiencies of the larger society"...are only getting worse.

All the education, all the programs, all the laws passed have not stemmed the down-turn in progress that blacks began seeing up until the mid sixties.

So lets assume you are right and Danno is wrong, what new idea or program can we try that might have some effect to change the society as a whole so that Blacks can

A. Stop going backwards.

B. start progressing again.

Be a little specific now.

Because you might live isolated from large numbers of Blacks why assume everyone does?

MAny people have lived with, worked with, hung out with or even dated African Americans and might have an opinion all on their own.

Others were more formally educated about folks, other than their own race.

Nothing wrong with making judgments about people but tell us what yours was based on.

Danno, first I am a so called "African American" or "Black person" which ever you prefer. And it amazes me the amount of people who make assumptions about other races solely based off of what someone, somebody, cousin, uncle said instead of their own experiences.

Something is wrong with making judgments about people especially if they are incorrect judgments. You could be missing out on your best friend just because someone told you black people are bad and you are just going to believe it instead of finding out for yourself. This is just plan wrong.

People should learn to think for themselves. All races commit crimes.

This is a lie told to make you think this. There are so many educated black people here in the U.S. it is ridiculous. We are teachers, politicians, doctors, translators, analyst, military, etc. You only see what is being put in front of you everyday by the news only, which is done with a purpose. You are the result of that purpose.

How many white people claim black people as their own? It's always been us and you. If you want to take on our issues be my guest.

The difference between us and you is your opportunities are right there in front of you, hard work and sweat, will get you where you need to be. For black people, it's our skin color, a black name, some other reason why we can't get hired, or accepted. This is what you choose to ignore.

You are right Whitey holds them down..Tell the President

I think you'll find the opposite is true. Who are the white champions of the racial moniorities in this country? It is mostly upper class white liberals who have probably never stepped foot in a poor minority neighborhood. Trying to show their friends how in tune they are with the plight of the minorities in this country, while they drink their $300 bottles of wine.

I've been the minority in mostly African American schools and neighborhoods. That doesn't make me any kind of expert on the subject of racism though.

My take on it is, why should I care about a group of people, who don't seem to care about themselves? There's been all kinds of posts here about ather racial minorities (Africans etc.) that seem to come to this country with little money and little English skills who seem to do much better than their American born black counterparts. Why is that? I mean they're both black. I'd say the American born black person should have the adavntage of growing up here and learning English from birth.

Racism does still exist, no doubt about that, but not on the scale that the black leaders in this country would have you believe. Racism is becoming less and less of a factor. But as time goes on, it becomes an excuse for under-performing rather than a cause for under-performing.

First, you cannot compare the backgrounds of Africans to the back grounds of blacks in this country because the two do not compare. We are two separate groups of people with two separate backgrounds. You will not have the same back ground, culture and up bringing as a white person from the UK would you?

Secondly, racist people and non racist people in America are far more willing to accept any body from ANY COUNTRY as long as they are not a black American. With this being said, I am educated, smart, speak three different languages and am rarely accepted in my current career setting. I am presentable, clean, hair neat, good speech and I get professors who do not want to shake my hand because they know I am American black versus they will shake, rub and hug any African person they meet.

When the oppressors left Africa, Africans had their own country to be in, versus black Americans had no country to call their own because our ancestors had no idea where they were from.

Hate begets hate, abuse begets abuse, it is a hard chain to break. Why do you think abused women turn and go back to their abusers? Why do abused children still love their parents? Drug addicts still love drugs? All of this is a psychological chain that has to be broken by the wearers of the chains as well as the observers of the people who watching the people wear the chains.

You can say what you want, but when you meet a well spoken black person you are still hesitant, not because they were not presentable, but because they are black American. Either you want blacks doing drugs and killing or you want them getting educated taking good jobs. Either way, we are still hated and looked down upon, and if this is the case, people lose faith and lack the motivation to want to improve if they are going to just be shunned and frowned upon anyway. Why get out off what you know only to face another hostile unknown? Everybody does not have this strong will.

Interesting. So it seems that you agree that the person's color has little to do with the issue, it's about where and how you were raised. I agree with you there

How the hell do you know if I'm hesitant when I meet anyone?

Its the American black color, the racial color between American blacks and American whites that I am speaking about. But none the less, people are accepted in ranking order based off of color. People with black skin being at the lowest, then your browns and your yellows per to say.

When I say you I am speaking in general not necessarily about you and your particular situation.

Since you responded, are you hesitant is the question?

Sorry I have a hard time beleiving people will not shake your hand because you are black regardless of your country of orgin

That's because you do not have to live as me, you live as you and you cannot say you understand what someone else goes through on a daily basis because you can never be me as I can never be you. Being open minded and being willing to understand someone else's situation is the best you can do.
