HI all!

I have a friend who is coming here on a K1 visa and her fiance' has just recently moved to another part of the country. They are now worried if she should have any issues at the POE 'cause her address where she's gonna stay in the US now and which she should put on her I-94 is going to differ from the one (the former address of her fiance') they stated eariler in their papers which she will be giving to the POE officer. Did anybody have the same situation before? What should they do?

Please help :help:

Okay if she already has her visa, then there is not a case in progress, so all they need is an AR-11 form. Just have her partially fill one out with the correct address and have it with her. If they say anything, just show it to them. She has to have her entry date to complete it. There shouldn't be any problem at all. The law gives 10 days to change the address for aliens and since her first day won't be until her entry date, she can mail in the AR-11 after arrival.

Thank you, Jimmynug!

I found the link to the form on the USCIS website. Thanks again! :star:

I was asked in my POE to confirm my address and I just told them that it had changed since the visa was issued 'cus my fiance had moved out of his parents and gave the new address to them. No problems at all. Also, that same week I sent a A-11 to USICS to oficially change my address.

Catlover,

This is not an issue. Put the current information on the entry documents, and if questioned simply explain that 'he moved since then'. Moving is not an uncommon event in the USA.

jimmynug,

Form AR-11 is not needed until an alien changes their place of residence after having entered the USA. That is not the case here, Catlover's friend has not yet entered the USA.

Form AR-11 is not used to report a USC's change of address.
