Honestly why are you even considering opening a package that clearly states DO NOT OPEN on it. If he did not smoke in the past 6-10 months his test will be negative and you have nothing to worry about. Why are you just sitting on the package? You need to send it to the consulate. You can't run from this now and apply later on, it will look very suspicious if you do and could have major consequences for you in future processing.

If you want to bring a spouse etc. to the USA then be smart for Pete's sake! We don't do drugs in the US.. period ( from the federal point of view). The few states where "medical gonja" is legal are the exception and not the rule.. and are less than half of the 50 In fact they (the states) are in violation of "federal law" which (feds) is who decides whether our loved ones get to come into this country or not..

Personally I could care less as to whether you smoke or not but doing any drugs while filing for any kind of visa to the US is like showing up for a job interview in your underwear... Definitely unwise.. Just sayin.
