processing time for I-131

Timeline

Hey everbody.I am currently an f1 student and got married to a us citizen.I want to travel to kenya for christmas and was wondering how long it takes to get the travel document.I have exactly two months left before I leave.should I expedite it?

10.1.2013 Mailed AOS(i-131,i-130,i-765,i-485)

10.2.2013 Chicago lock box received and signed our package

10.6.2013 Checks cashed and account overdrawnrofl.gifoops8rh.gif

10.11.2013 Hard copies of NOA's received for all 4 forms without even receiving emails or texts although we filed G-1145

10.12.13 Biometrics appointment on 11/6/2013 Doing a walk in coz ain't nobody got time to wait one month idea9dv.gif

10.14.13 went to renew Drivers License with my NOA's.Got a permit.DL to be sent in mail within 30 days

10.15.13 Successful walk in biometric appointment

10.31.13 I485 Status changed to testing and interview while all the rest are still at initial review

11.27.13 (day 56) I-131 approved and on post decision activity while EAD is on card production #confused

12.06.13 the EAD/AP card combo arrived and was sent to my home country via DHL.I LEFT WITHOUT IT !!and i arrived in the US just fine dancin5hr.gif

01.27.14 Interview date in Oakland park,FL

02/10/14 Green Card Received

Have you applied for AOS yet?

I think you are talking about I-131, and i think it usually takes about 3 months. However, it varies case by case.

If you really need to go, and if that's the only option, I think it would be good idea to go ahead apply for it.

I am in sort of the same situation, I filed my paperwork earlier this month and hoping to travel around Christmas time.

J-1 student for 2007-2008, F-1 student since 2008 for high school, then full-time undergraduate degree from 2009-present, renewed F1 early on in 2013.

06/26/13 No more DOMA

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

09/14/13 Mailed out the packet with (I-130, I-485, I-131, I-864, I-693, I-765)

09/16/13 (day 2) Arrived at Chicago Lockbox

09/23/13 (day 9) Received Hardcopy of receipt for I-485, I-765, and I-131

10/3/13 (day 19) Biometrics given to USCIS

11/27/13 (day 63) Interview Appointment
