K-1 Question

I have a question for a friend of mine directed at anyone who has had the same type of experience. My friend's fiancee was interviewed today and the American counselor kept asking why did they meet through her brother-in-law. Her brother-in law is her fiancees brother. So the counselor gave her a pass to come back to the embassy and said they wanted to interview her again. They didn't say she was denied and kept all her paperwork including her passport.

So my question to anyone who's paperwork and passport was kept when you went back for the second interview was it favorable or were you denied?

A little misunderstanding perhaps? A brother-in-law is your husband's brother. They are not yet married so she shouldn't refer to him as her BIL, should be my fiancee's brother or future BIL.

The consul might have thought that she met the petitioner thru a present/ex husband's brother.

That's how I understood your post. happy.png

Stokes interview? I thought they were only done during the green card process.

Nope, done at the embassy all the time. FPU (Fraud Prevention Unit) most likely will sit her down and talk to her (no glaring light bulb though). The embassy may only be confused as to who is who that introduced you two. May only need to clarify that is was YOUR brother that introduced you to HIS sister in law...
