I need help, please! I submitted my husband's DS-260 online on the 21st of this month but I noticed we made some mistakes filling it out when I reviewed it and it won't let me edit it. I called the NVC if there's any way I could resubmit it but I was told I have to wait 30 days from submission date to review the application and they will unlock for me so I could make changes but it will take another 30 days to review the application again. If by chance, the NVC approves my husband's DS-260, will it be automatically unlocked or do I have to call them? I'm also having a second thought of editing it after his visa interview is scheduled because by the time he's scheduled for interview, I will be flying to Manila to be with him at his interview. Does the US embassy in Manila have access or control over DS-260 online? Can they also unlock it for us? Any response would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance smile.png

I think that at this point, you will have to do what they say... wait 30 days from the submission date and then call back so that they unlock it.

However, you might try calling back and speaking to someone else (calmly.. I can tell you're distressed. This will not help you.) and seeing if they tell you something else and correct the mistakes over the phone, for instance.

I was told by the nvc agent that if 30 days are over since it was applied u cant..rather the agent said that if its a minor mistake u might be able to correct at the time of the interview. but u still call and ask them call 3-4 times and ask the same thing as every time you get different information each time you call.

I hope this helps.

Good luck..do post what u hear from nvc people.

Thanks

It's just given names of my husband and his dad, we only put the first name, we didn't include the middle name. And on his mother's surname, we put her last name before she got married (maiden name) but it's supposed to be her married name or whatever she uses now, I just learned that from here on visa journey while I was reading the forums. We were comparing the DS-260 with the DS-230 while we were doing it, that's why. On DS-230, mother's maiden is asked so that's what we put on the surname of her mother. Thank you very much too pepper438 for the information. I'll keep you guys posted what I hear from them. Thanks again :)

Oh, thank you. I'm just so worried, 1 mistake might cause a lot of problems. We would rather do the correction at the interview than wait 30 days because it will take another 30 days for them to review it. Thank you, thank you so much :)

I called the NVC today and I was told that we can make the correction at the interview. I feel relieved and at the same time, I'm afraid my husband won't be able to pass the interview but I believe he can make it, we'll just keep on praying. Good luck to us guys and thanks so much again for your help :)

Hi RizNold

You said you submitted your husband's DS-260 ? did you sign it yourself ? my husband was going to fill DS-260 for me and i read in instruction that petitioner or the third part can assist on filling but only beneficiary should have to sign it
