You should be judged on merit and achievement, not the color of your skin. I'll give you an example:

Folks here and IRL say that in order to beat racism, all you have to do is be good at what you do and be productive in society. So, how come when blacks exceed in those areas, why aren't they chosen? When you have the number one show for 5 years running in America(Cosby Show) and not a single actor/actress gets the Emmy, how do you change that? When your movie gets world wide acclaim, but you can't get an Oscar(Color Purple) how do you change that? When you not only meet but exceed the standard, and still can't get promoted or an award, how do you change that?

I'm not sure I made the case that it was fair, it never is, there are politics and prejudices involved.

I suggest, it would be no different no matter who the majority belonged to.... Especially if it were Blacks.

When you have to be President for a few weeks before anyone will give you a Nobel Peace Prize that proves discrimination is alive and well.

Yes Cosby's number one running show for 5 years....How is that possible if society is so racist...Logic would dictate that if Racism is so rampant it could not be number one for 5 years in a row.--P.S. the show itself did win several, plus many globes and peoples choice awards.

Color Purple did not win an Oscar--That proves america is racist -- Really..Sigh

That kind of convoluted everything is racist absurdity is why so many white people are so sick of hearing racism as an excuse for every problem that affects black America.

P.S. How is everything .. Did your wife get to go. I fear that day coming at my house

Just came from the Navy Marine Corps Relief society. They are going to get her a ticket. She should be leaving next week.

Thanks for asking.

She was using the term in the context that white people always look to organizations that stem from racism and use those as an example of reverse racism. The effect can't be the cause.

My point is that the use of the term " reverse racism" perpetuates differentiation along the lines of race. What we should be aiming for is the elimination of this kind of distinction. Black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American should no have any bearing. If we can't use the same terminology regardless of race, how are we going to start dealing with the basic issue.

Which is racism.

Pure and simple.

Noted.

We can deal with the basic issue, the problem is when the discussion is race, the stereotypes come out and no one wants to gain an understanding about each other, they rather tout the murder rate and the n word.

Huh? How about 'Native American' then everyone else? I'm a liking that _one_ racial distinction.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
