Serious CSC Delay For NVC

Unless something strange happens, you will be 40+ days from NOA2 at CSC to a case number at NVC.

From what I have read around the forums, this is correct. I've seen CSC people wait from 41-46 days for Case number. Other service centers are about 10-14 days.

I too have been waiting 31 days. I'm hoping it happens soon.

02/25/18 - Case updated to "We received your case" 

04/06/18 - Case updated to "We received your case"

04/06/18 - Case updated to "We transferred your case to another USCIS office for processing" - CSC to CSC  (letter)

04/10/18 - Case updated to "We transferred your case to another USCIS office for processing" - CSC to POTOMAC  (letter)

04/11/18 - Case updated to "We transferred your case to another USCIS office for processing"

04/19/18 - Case updated to "We received your case"

Got NOA2 on Aug 22nd, kept calling NVC daily 2 weeks after that and they always said they didn't have it yet. Finally, we called DoS and they said they got our case (that was Oct 3rd) and gave us our case#. Ever since then our case status on CEAC website is AT NVC. It's been 9 days, don't know what's going on :( Any advice? I see that cases normally leave NVC 2-5 days after being assigned with a case#.

You're correct in noting that some seem to go through quite quickly, so it seems to be luck of the draw as to who gets the deluxe express treatment!

We received our notice October 16th. I call today to get a status update October 24th. I waited on hold for 45 minutes and was then told they have not received my petion I-129f. I was told they are running behind (you think) and it would be 8 weeks. That will place our petition in Middle december with NVC and my petition expires February 16, 2014. It appears we may be in trouble since Moscow is running late as well. What to do?

THRILLED to report that we finally received our case number tonight!! It only took 35 days! Promising news everyone! Maybe the CSC/NVC transfer is picking up the pace! Yay!!!! And as others have said, I called earlier today (3pm) and no case rec'd according to NVC. Literally JUST got off the phone & voila! Case # issued!

Awaiting Oath Ceremony for Citizenship! Last step!

That's wonderful news, congrats! I think you may be right - we got our case # in 37 days, and I called and got it on the 40th day.

I'm on day 49 and still no case number. Anyone in the same boat? Should I start trying to get a tier 2 rep on the phone?

I got mine after 38 days. Because it hasn't been 8 weeks for you, I don't know if you'll get much help from NVC. Just try calling the DOS, they're much easier to get a hold of. Good luck!

Sept 24 2016 - resent packet (1st attempt arrived 2 days too early due to miscalculation of 90 days)

8/15/14- notified via text and email that application was accepted on 8/12 and being processed.


9/8/14- Biometric done; 11/5/14- EAD/I-131 Approved/Card Production

02/04/2014 After many months of waiting and frustration, FI finally got his birth certificate, passport and police clearance from his home country and we received an SMS today stating that his SA Police Clearance was finalized.

2/27/14 Followed up with Consulate to get interview date. They schedule an interview for 2/20 when he submitted the application of readiness (what we had to do to extend his NOA2) on 1/21, but they didn't notify us of that appointment, so we missed it.


3/27/14- Interview- APPROVED!!!


4/10/14- FI entered US via LAX and flew to SF 6/14/14- Civil Ceremony
