If your friend has a green card they can remarry another US citizen. If doesn't have green card, can remarry, but will have to file for AOS using I-130, and I-485 in the USA or return home and file for another spousal visa.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

No restriction on marriage. The complication is how to adjust status.

YMMV

Yep... I suppose he wanted to start a new thread due to the title of the original one being 'Could I remarry?' despite the question being about a 'friend'. :)

Chris... you don't have to pretend you're asking on behalf of a friend! This is the internet... nobody knows you anyway!

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png
