When did you have the medical exam?

I think the person is giving you generic information. It is not London you are speaking to.

Going through London IV Unit, you will receive a letter with your appointment date and instructions to find and read further instruction (form IV-19) on their website. Here is a link to IV-19. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/IV019_fiance_appt_letter.pdf

Notice the payment instructions arrive with the appointment letter instructions, so it is not a prerequisite for getting an appointment. It never has been.

My medical was 3rd Sept Doctors advised me the Embassy had recieved them on Friday 6th September 2013.

I was under the impression as you have said that a letter would land on my doorstep sometime with instructions and an interview date.

I was worried for a minute that the payment I made today might not have been legit but the link you supplied has a further link http://dld.bz/ivbook which took me to the same place I was advised to go to today and register. Paying now before I get instructions will hopefully not be a problem just another thing crossed off I made copies of the receipts to take with me.

Well I got an email from them around 2 weeks ago but there was no update on CEAC that time. Today however, there was. So more than likely it's the email that caused the update. But sometimes DoS give confusing information (like the first update information).

O there goes that internal note thing again lol ,did u receive a reply to your email the day you got a update?.as that probably is what it was ,I received a update on the date of every email they have sent me but I don't think it shows up on the dos system as an update all the time .as I called one time and the guy said he had no update on his system but he then typed my case number into ceac and said he could see I had received an update that day.after a little bit of searching around on his system he read out the email the embassy had sent me and said that was what the update more than likely was and apologized saying the information they have is limited.but I asked the lady Like 3 tines today to make sure they defitenly had my forms she laughed and said yes ,I said sorry for being a pain and she said she understands they get alot of calls from London.so I do have faith they have logged both our forms.dos just don't seem to know what the less important updates are such as emails

Just a quick question... Where do I find the receipt for the fee that I have already paid for? Is it the bit where it says 'print instructions'

Sadly I really don't think paying today will help speed anything up,but it won't hurt either as long as you have paid before you have your actual interview and have proof you paid,I really don't think it matters when you do it

Did the email you received today confirm anything about the logging of your forms? ,dos can be confusing sometimes though I know what you mean :-/ like u said it is just a waiting game

Your payment is legit. It can be paid before or after an interview is assigned.

Your forms are fine and you do not need a DS-260 because you were contacted by London (p3) before the cut-off date of Sept 1.

DS-160 is the only form non-immigrants file. You don't do it at all. Do not be alarmed when you queue up at the embassy and a person is yelling "You must have a DS-160 with you". That is not meant for you.

Factoid: 96.5% of all visas issued by London in 2012 were non-immigrant. Most of the people in line will have a DS-160. You won't.

London says to allow 4 weeks for an appointment letter to go out after everything is received. You should plan on waiting until four weeks past the medical received date. Expect a letter after Oct 4.

Yeah the email today did confirm that they had received all the forms needed and that they were processing them. Best not to worry about it I guess, I actually stopped continuously checking the status which is when there was any action being taken ?

Nich Nick thanks for your help ..... patience is the key I guess

Jola sorry for pinching your space on here, if I hear anything I will keep you informed. My son is hoping to study in Colorado next year during his 3rd term so if I am out that way I will buy you both a big fat drink and some lunch.

Nich Nick I am sure I will be passing by you some day soon too

We'll only be four hours apart by car.

Weahterford, TX--where Larry Hagman (aka J.R. Ewing) lived as a boy.

Awww how kind :-) and I don't mind you pinching space we all in the same boat here :)

So this whole journey is such a rollercoaster,as I said earlier I called dos and they informed me my forms have been logged.my fiance just told me he had called dos also before he knew id called and he said the lady said our forms hadn't been logged ,so once he saw my text he called them back to ask again as we had both just been told completely different things .the second lady told him the forms have been received but no interview date yet,so he asked does the fact they have been received mean they have been logged onto my file ?and she said well yes it says here that they have received your finances forms.

So now we are thinking are dos telling us my forms have been received as they can see that the embassy confirmed to me almost two weeks ago by email that they had received my forms or can they see my forms logged onto my file? Kind of confused if the fact the embassy said they received my forms means they are in fact logged or they still waiting to be logged.

I thinks logged and received are the same really. The first time I saw "logged" used was here in the UK forum a few years ago and it became the UK buzz word.

Imagine this--

Before your NOA2 there is nothing on the computer about you. If you called DOS, they would see nothing.

Your file gets shipped to London. It is still in a box in the mailroom. DOS see nothing.

Somebody in London opens the box and enters your file number and info. Now it is known to be received. Somebody logged (or typed) it into the computer. DOS sees the entry and answers yes to Is my file received? Or Is my file logged? All the same. DOS doesn't see every paper.

You mail forms. They sit in storage for weeks. Finally somebody works on yours. Maybe they enter a date into the field asking for date forms received. DOS sees it.

It's like if you go to your VJ timeline and enter a new item...the date you got NOA2, I can see your entry. You entered a NOA2 date. You logged your NOA2 date. It is semantics. I think in general people over-analyze the CEAC thing and what DOS says. But the bottom line is your interview assignment is 2 weeks past due if they say allow 4 weeks after the last thing is received. I assume it takes them that long to get to your envelope and open it for the first time. or maybe the mail opener logger send it to the schedule person and it's In a stack there now. And one of them went on two week holiday and it's waiting on her desk. Everything is speculation and you can work yourself into a helluva frenzy trying to figure it out. It is very frustrating not knowing.

This forum is great for finding out how the process works.

It is also great for driving you bonkers thinking about why have I not heard anything yet.

The process will run it's course and you will get there if you have no hidden problems.

Get your paperwork in order for the interview, make copies of the bits they tell you you will need.

Follow the instructions you receive, use some common sense and all will be fine.

The folks at the embassy are not there to catch you our or trip you up.

Stop worrying and just stock up on patience.
